      North_Mummy:
Hi all, my boy is turning 2.5yrs old. He is attending playgroup daily. He always get sick, cough, flu, running nose. He had poor appetite too. Anyone can recommend TCM to improve as well as maintain his health. I did bring my boy to Yu guo near Kembangan Mrt but not much use......

      Hi North_Mummy,

Based on what you described, I think your boy could be suffering from Allergic Rhinitis instead of common cold & flu. Me and my 2 girls used to suffer from this for years, have seen many doctors, both Western and Chinese, but most medications didn't seem to work too well for us.

I was almost decided to go for nose operation, until a friend recommended me to try the Nose Spa therapy. The therapy is suitable for kids and adults and it did work well on me and my 2 girls.

I hope this recommendation can help to solve your son's problem.

          What is nose spa therapy?

          Hi,

We took up this therapy at a TCM clinic about 1.5 years ago. It's a kind of natural treatment for nose diseases whereby you will inhale some herbal mists via a steam inhaler device. Depending on your condition, the doctor will prescribe different formulations for you to do the nose spa.

The mist is a little warm and my younger girl didn't like it at the beginning, but after a few times she was okay to continue the treatment, because she could actually breathe better and her \"routine\" runny nose was much reduced.

Not quite sure the answer to your question but I guess it depends on your definition for \"cure\".

I have a friend who spent over $10K for ENT treatment/surgery but yet his nose problem came back in just 1 year. As for me, I took up intensive Nose Spa treatment 1.5 years ago and touch wood so far so good, no relapse till now.

              Wonder if that's considered cured?

                  Hi,

Anyone have the full name for 中华医院 儿科许医师 ?
Is he still in 中华医院. Need to find a good TCM to help my boy, he’s having persistent coughing and hardly can fully recover from it no matter what type of medication I’ve given him (ventolin… bambec, nebuliaze …etc)

The best TCM doctor we tried so far is CHEE SEN TANG opposite long house.

Works like GOD for both my child.

my son has persistant stomach pain.had this since last 1-2 years.

on off for last 6 months was ok but now again problem and last for days or week and the pain comes and goes sometimes after eating or prior.
need a good chinese doctor that can help with such recurring pain.
we had sought specialist western doc at KK but even the HOD also cannot dignose much out of it. so fustrating. there should be more help available .
any parents with such problem of children having constant abdominal pain?
the pain is around the belly it seem according to my son.

                        Hi OrangeT
My son also has tummy aches q often but never been able to find out what is exactly wrong with him even after visiting the doctors and u know western docs will usually just prescribe colimix to relieve the pain.

In my earlier post, I have recommended Dr Koh (Xu Yi Shi) fr Econhealth.
She does Child Tuina as well. She runs around afew branches like jurong, bishan etc. You can call 66590217 to check her schedule - hv to make appointment.
She has been treating my son flu/cough but I also see her for his tummy aches.

By the way, I have also done some observations on my son esp whenever he is having tummy aches. Altho he is q small sized, he has a large appetite and gets hungry v easily. From his eating habits, I reckon that it might be due to his small stomach couldnt take in all the food at one time, tts why he feels the \"bloatedness\", thus the uncomfort or pain.
Another thing is because he is q greedy and eats fast, I realise he doesnt chew that much before swallowing (despite my constant reminders/scoldings!) so I guess that may also affect his tummy.
Oh, I have also changed his milk intake to soy-based so gentler on the tummy.

You may also wish to observe more closely the eating/drinking habits of your son and feedback to the doctor at ur next visit.
                        Hope this helps.:)
