      Hello,

I’m wondering if anyone has had any experience sending their child/ren to KRTC? They’re opening a center near my house and I happen to be looking for a science tutor for my P4 child and was thinking if I should consider sending my child there.

      Appreciate your comments!

Which KRTC you are talking about? They have different quality for different branch. Seems that there is no standardized syllabus. So it really depends on the tutor of particular branch.

They are opening a branch at Sembawang Shopping Center, but I'm alarmed at hearing there isn't a standardized syllabus and quality varies from branch to branch!

i have recently signed up for english tuition (failed badly for mye) in krtc whitesands, and my parents paid a whopping $449 for it. some of my friends said that i went to the wrong branch, since the one at whitesands only opened recently, hence inexperience teachers.

any experiences to share about the english tuition there? are they good? (cos ive heard of people going in with a c and coming out with an a)

im sec 2 btw, express stream.

Anyone heard about this read in week phonics programme which is for nur phonics, K1/K2 phonics & P1-p6 phonics. http://Www.readinaweek.com.sg

I happened to pass by the Kent Ridge and saw their leaflet. My child is p4 already and she is not good in spelling and pronunciation. I wonder whether it will help. Appreciate your feedback. Thank you.

I strongly recommend you to send your kid to LCentral for their lift off programe. You can see the result in 3 months time. At the same time, there is a weekly spelling for those sight words. This help the kid alot in reading. Best is that the teachers are native English people.

I strongly recommend that you teach your child at home using http://donpotter.net/pdf/reading_made_easy_with_blen.pdf. It comes with a http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Gvbpm_XMXcA&feature=plcp&context=C47a9f16VDvjVQa1PpcFMz_Wp6YilYdZIkB127rKH80sQpX-ovpro%3D and a boatload of http://blendphonics.org/?page_id=25 to help you, the teacher. For a P4 student, it will take less than 3 months and not cost anything.

Also, there are only a handful of genuine \"sight words\". All other http://www.thephonicspage.org/On%20Reading/sightwords.html using the phonetic code.
