    • RE: How best to maintain records for home tuitions

      Some methods:

      1. Parents pay per lesson.
      2. You provide a book. The kids sign every end of lesson.
      3. Give the kids a small book to record. You just stamp, with the date every end of lesson.

If there are still dispute after applying those methods, leave the students. He/she is not genuine customer. 😃

    • RE: Horror Stories - Tutors

For finding a tutor, it’s much better if the tutor is recommended by a friend u know well. In the end, it doesn’t really matter whether the tutor is NIE trained, ex-school teacher, "just" an undergrad, or whatsoever… as long as he/she is suitable for your child and able to help your child. To be honest, there are so many NIE trained who can’t really teach well.

    • RE: Is there a practice to give bonus to tutor?

I think better give some stuff which is more memorable for the tutor, rather than additional "bonus". U can give in some special occasion such as teacher’s day. Angpao for CNY is also good idea.

    • RE: When do you start looking for tuition teachers?

If you try to find nearing exam, normally all good tutors have already fully booked. Even if you try to send to tuition center with a strong tutor, it is always crowded nearing exam time.

Better u try beginning of the year. But if your child is smart enough, maybe it’s ok not to send him/her for any tuition so early, so can save cost… 😃

    • RE: Stalford Learning Center - Discussion

I think the quality of tutors in Stalford is spread out coz they have too many branches. I heard the good one is in their Tiong Bahru branch.

Which KRTC you are talking about? They have different quality for different branch. Seems that there is no standardized syllabus. So it really depends on the tutor of particular branch.
