The first post already stated the contest ends at 9pm on 25 Nov 2009. So Chief may want to be the last one to comment. I guess.

My prediction is also Nanyang Primary School because:
          1) it has a most dynamic principal (unfortunately leaving for Nanyang Girls in Dec 09) 😒 .
          2) it has the highest number of dedicated, motivated and loyal PVs who put in the same or even more effort in the education of their kids in NYPS :rahrah:
          3) it promotes both moral & academic excellence, thereby offering the perfect environment in nurturing a TOP student πŸ˜‰
4)last but not least, the kiasu spirit and index is probably one of the highest, or if not the highest in town, hence it gets my vote for being the best able sch to product the TOP kid. :celebrate:
          Tks v much, Chief

I vote for Bukit Panjang Primary because statistics show that they produce a top student every 3 years. One in 2003, then 2006 (one of the top) so the next one will be this year!!

I have students who are graduants from CHS (Primary). Their parents are really as described above. Can get quite scary as they find means & ways to get teachers' personal contact numbers and keep calling to ask for feedback or keep calling to complain!

I know what you mean. Talking to them makes me very stressed, like I'm a good for nothing parent for not being on the ball like them. They know everything about thier kid's classmates cum competitors. Everyone is a competitor there.

Frankly speaking, my wish is for the top 2 scorers to be fm a neighbourhood school altho my dd's not in one. It would raise the morale of the teachers and students there. It's hard being always compared to the elite schools. They are underdogs in so many ways. Less funding, less publicity in the media (eg NGH at farewell of Pres. Hu), weak PSG, wider deviation in cohort's academic standard, etc etc etc. The teachers there work very, very hard, prob even harder than most in elite schools. They have to because many of the students do not have the best tuition nor SAH well-educated parent, hence the teachers have to teach more. They have a more challenging job too in terms of discipline among the students.

I think in elite schools, teachers face more challenges dealing with irate, well-heeled and demanding parents, rather than students. πŸ˜‰

Why is it important to know which school the top student come from ?

That school may produce one top student in donkey years. It is like striking TOTO. May be some parents with fantastic genes decided they just want to put their child in the nearest school πŸ˜‰

I feel that the most important piece of information, is the school that produces the highest % of students who scored all As. Is this information available ?
