1 to 1 home tuition would definitely be better...cause your child would directly be learning something..and at the same time u could judge the tutor..cause tuition center and group tuiton they have many child too so sometimes the teacher cannot be concentrating on 1 child..do you need any recommendation for the chinese tutor??

My boy prefers the one to one for private but the interaction for group. We like the focus on weak areas for private and the interaction and peer pressure in group. So how?

Either suits, depending on the needs on the student.

If tuition is needed due to falling behind of a subject, one-to-one would be perfect.

However, if tuition is to supplement & encourage more practice on the subject, group tuition can further enrich the students' learning.

Have encountered many parents who put their children in both private And group tuition; like my dear nus professor. It's partly for security; in case the tutor is not able to make it on any week. Another is the exposure to different material in order to broaden the child's exposure. I guess private tuition will be really good for getting customized help on the child's specific weaknesses

Especially for science, sharing & discussion that arise from a group tuition will benefit learning.

For eg, one student may offer a thought that the other does not consider. When a teacher opens a topic & the students interact to deliver a complete answer, such active learning is the best way to absorb knowledge.
