if not, will be in phrase 2B for church affiliation.....but super far from my place... my DH is an ACS old boy, don't think he can use that to registrate my DD in any schools under phrase 2A right ?
2011 phase 2C River Valley school balloting

No, you cannot register your girl under MGS, even though your husband was former ACS boy.

        Iโ€™m reporting too. DS 2007, registering 2014.

briefly scanned thru the previous posts. very useful.

now waiting for 2011 registration results so more or less know if previous trends still follow, esp with change in PR registration process. will it improve our chances as singaporeans?

also wondering when the garmen is going to take into consideration the number of years a family has stayed at a particular address before they can register their child as within 1km. .too many parents abuse and move/rent address near to choice school and then change address after first few days of p1. ๐Ÿ˜ž leaving us, who has been staying there for more than 5 years, having to travel >1km to school ๐Ÿ˜ž

I hope you don't miss it by a year. Registration should be 2013,
          and starting P1 in 2014! ๐Ÿ˜‰

Wahahaha.... thanks for the correction.... oops.... trying to keep him pre school as ong as i can.... ahhahaha. Pri school so stressful! I'm really keen to send him to a neighbourhood school so that not so competitive and less stressful.

                Hi mummies of little piglets

I have just received a letter that my application for PV at NCPS is unsuccessful. Sob Sobโ€ฆ

                1) Not sure if I still have sufficient time to join grassroots committee or Clan to qualify under Phrase 2B?
                2) My distance to NCPC is within 1 - 2km. If I falls under Phase 2C, how is my chance of my son getting to the school?
                3) Should I just register for North Vista Primary School since my house is just next to the school?

Appreciate your kind adviceโ€ฆ Really stressed up now!!

                  1) Grassroot - too late cos you have be to endorse as Executive Member before 30 June 2012 and then serve one year to be eligible for P2B. For clan - need at least 3 to 4 years of membership tenure before they will give you the P2B letter.

                  2) You can check the registration history but since NCPC belongs to SHHK and is a sought after school, then I believe P2C will be over subscribe (therefore need to be within 1 km to have a chance of balloting)

                  3) You can check the registration history in this website.

                    Thanks for the info!

                    1) Wonder if I should still try under P2C for NCPS and if unsuccessful will go for North Visa primary school which is less than 1km from my house.

                    2) another choice will be Kong Hwa Primary School which my hubby is ex-student from the school. But distance seems abit far.

What choice were u choose or any suggestion on better school at Sengkang?

on that day, you can monitor closely statistics under P2C for NCPS.
but 1-2 km from NCPS: chance is slim.

btw, did you read parents' comments about North Vista thread?
                      http://www.kiasuparents.com/kiasu/forum/viewtopic.php?f=38&t=4488

between yr husband's strong, heavy weight Kong Hwa and North Vista, i encourage you to go back Kong Hwa, stay there minimum 1 year at least. Then seek transfer into NCPS, in the event you're unable to enter NCPS under 2C.

I don't believe that all schools are the same.
Kong Hwa is a good, proven established SAP school with thick history & culture. North Vista is a relatively new school - yet to prove herself with her first maiden batch of PSLE candidates, & to prove how effective is the new teaching pedagogy (Reggio method) introduced ? Persevere minimal 1 year at KH in terms of transport.

I interpret that your ultimate goal eventually is to enter NCPS. Transfer from KH to NCPS is easier, as both schools have something in common - their strong emphasis in Chinese. In deciding which student to take / accept for transfer, the Principal of the accepting school also takes into consideration - which originating school your child comes from, plus also whether your child strong / shows interest in Chinese ?

Many thanks for yr valuable advice.

I have read comments about north vista and not much positive feedback on the school. I know that rivervale is also a good school but the PV application closed earlier last year and I din had a chance to apply.

Looks like I donโ€™t have any other choice for school in sengkang.

In fact, Iโ€™m still not very sure on the P1 registration. Reference to yr suggestion, do I still go ahead to register for NCPS and if unsuccessful then register for KH. Or I should straight away register for KH.
