IM v unhappy over many issues from housing to transportation to our education system. Somehow, i felt there were no synergy bet our MPs. Each policy rolled out did not gif due consideration to e cause & effects.

However i do agree tat we shld learn to respect one another. Despite not agreeing wif e many policies fr our MIW, I will still gif em a nod as acknowledgement to show my respect to em as leaders of my country if i happen to mit em (so far never lor).

For now, i hope tat Png can help to bring out some issues at national level & all MPs can work together to bring back e Singapore which I WAS once so proud of.
:goodpost: No synergy between the MPs is correct. Little co-ordination between ministries. Competition and turf guarding is the name of the game. The silly KPI and performance system is ubiquitious in Singapore and defines every single Ministry, MP and civil servant... and cheapens good men in parliament and government.

We are not a Village. We are gladiators. And the word gladiator is nothing to be proud of.

Took me a while to figure out, but I'd assume it is mainstream media. Please correct me if I'm wrong.

I think Singaporean was generally not this kind of people, so that goes to show how much of 民怨 are out there.

                  Angelight:
Read from TODAY paper that DC was jeered at by the residents there when he went round to make his 'thank-you' parade in Hougang. I felt this is really uncalled for. Although he lost the by election, he was gracious enough to congratulate PEH and even said PEH \"deserved to win becos he had worked very hard in that estate\". I think DC has also worked very hard in Hougang, despite losing the GE last year, he still stayed on to serve the Hougang residents. For this alone, I don't think he deserved to be jeered at.

This is not the first time WP supporters had jeered at MPs of ruling party. At the last GE when GY, WKS and other PAP MPs gave a speech on Nomination Day, WP supporters also booed at them. What is with these pple, that they have absolutely no respect for others who are not in the same camp as them. It also reflects very badly on the WP supporters and the party they supported.

Actually I've tried to refrain from posting here cos I know there are many WP supporters here and didn't want to be slammed. But I felt so sorry for DC after reading about him being sneered and jeered at during the thank-you parade that I just felt I have to say something.

Btw, I am not a Hougang resident and this by election didn't affect me at all. But I just want to bring this up and hope that people will respect others who are not in the same camp, league or whatever. Respecting others is also respecting ourselves.

Mr. LTK responded to zaobao's 'arrows':

                    (source: http://www.zaobao.com.sg/yl/yl120529_002.shtml)

Personally, I do not think people should boo at the party that they do not support. Due respect should be given to those who campaigned and put themselves up to serve the people.

However, 😉 , I'd think this is nothing compared to the smears from MSM. The vocab by the people on the streets is more limited to compared to the educated people in MSM. MIW should reflect. Asking people they should or should not do this and that is one thing. If MIW is not getting the message from the one word of \"boo\", then the worse may be yet to come.
1st point. Agree. People should not boo. Ideally la.

But to them, maybe the ruling party has put in things that make life really very difficult for them...such as

                      1) invasion of foreigners who compete for jobs with unfair advantages
                      2) MND never tok to immigration side, so did not prepare for infrastructure to support the foreign wave, hence leading to runaway prices for some commodities and necessities
                      3) increase of GST to 'help the poor'
                      4) never listen to the people's cry - no casinos
                      5) selling our national assets - e.g. power station to foreign comapanies
                      6) call us words like stupid, daft, repent, spurs stuck to their hides and saying stupid things like \"I feel so rich when I see my CPF acct\"
                      7) little / no union support and protection

and let's not talk about how they bash the opposition

and of course, bringing in 'questionable people' like:

                      1) a young lady with no real talent but by the fact that she is married to the PM personal assistant

                      2) a doctor from Malaysia that didn't do NS

                      3) a female banker (??)

                      4) an ex general with a penchant for hokkien slang

So. when you see what kind of thing this party represents, will you boo or not?

I personally think they got off lightly. In USA, did you know George Bush had eggs thrown at him?
