I personally think they got off lightly. In USA, did you know George Bush had eggs thrown at him?

:rotflmao: Joule, you also forgot a shoe.

Fact is, that we Singaporeans have prided ourselves that our politics are not like that, and we hope that our politics do not reach that stage. The opposition supporters are already very mild, yes. Like I said, if MIW doesn't reflect, in fact, do lots of reflection instead of blaming the people for 'unwise voting' and continue to put the opposition down, then they are just making this day come true, for themselves and for us.

BTW, I fully empathize with the HG residents. I didn't mention doesn't mean I don't support, just don't want to make other forumers feel out-majoritied and stop writing.

alamak but I didn't factor that in because it was not in USA (happened in Iraq)....maybe someone will throw a pie at LHL in Malaysia...that'll be interesting?

Fact is, we are already very well behaved. We don't strike, don't riot, don't protest/ demonstrate and we're good at taking crap.

I find we're quite resilient already

I have a lot of cheng hu kang (civil servant) friends who grumble too, but their reason (which is still very valid)

opposition is still in their infancy....

opposition has no experience running the country.....

my zone opposition ppl look like jokers....

what if the opposition cannot manage the estate well? will have rats running all over (blah. me staying at my area already got big juicy rats running all over)

            etc etc

            they are not wrong

            but according to their mindset

\"need to have experience, then can vote them\"

\"if dont vote them, how to have experience?\"

            ...lol. error loop

Also hör, sorry har, 这口气没吐出来,心里不很不平衡, not that I support the ‘booing’ har, have you seen what happen in parliament when the majorities laughed and snickered at the minority? It is probably a high-class boo.

                  Joule:

But to them, maybe the ruling party has put in things that make life really very difficult for them...such as
Privatizing the PUBLIC transport, and allow a DFS salesgirl(?), who is a PR for 40yr (who doesn't want to convert to citizen) be the CEO of SMRT, a critical infrastructure of the country.

And under the foreign talent's talented management, SMRT suffered one of the Worst breakdown in history.. leaving thousands of Singaporeans stranded.....
