lilfeets, how would anyone know the chances when registration has not even started yet?

That's why we always have a caveat - assuming future follows the historical trend. 😉
      angeliatay:
..the only positive aspect this year would be that Singaporeans would get double the chance compared to the PRs I guess.
No, you are wrong. This year, Singaporeans will get priority over PRs within the phase. So, if you are a Singaporean in the 1-2 km category (or even > 2 km category), you have priority over a PR who stays less than 1 km away from the school.

This could be probably why lifeets asked the question. Nevertheless, you were right that nobody would know the chance of getting into a school when the registration process hadn't even started.

        Just some additional info.

When ACPS was still in Coleman St, they had 10 classes per cohort vs ACJS 4 classes in Barker Rd. Believe that was up to the 80s

I’m not sure how many classes ACJS had after they moved to Cairnhill and ACPS after they moved to BR. Maybe someone can provide this info.

If that being the case, ACPS will have significantly more Old Boys than ACJS and that will affect the take-up rate at 2A.

Don't worry too much. During my son's time, there were several applicants who were above 2km range that got in under 2B phase via balloting. With the priority going to Singaporeans this year, who knows? 🙂 At least u have the opportunity to register one phase earlier. Good luck!

Hi there…i am a newbie here…I am doing some planning & was hoping to get further insight…I am an old boy of acjs & my property is in the east…would being an old boy be sufficient enough to land a slot or do I need to be within 1km of the school too? Thanks a lot!

Yeah, being an old boy from ACJS would mean you would fall under Phase 2A(2). Your son should have no problem getting into the school.

                  Hi

I am able to register my son in acs junior under phase 2b however I very to drive to acs junior as compared to we can walk to acs Barker. However registration for acs Barker will be 2c.

Am thinking of logistically my son can walk to school if acs Barker but 2b and 2c is also some risk. I am a Singaporean.

Could any kind parent advise what we should do? Is there any difference between these schools please? Thank u for ur time.

hi, we are staying within 1km from AJS primary, both my hubby and i was not from ACS. so we can only look forward for phase 2C.

i have been thinking of the chances for us to get our son into ACS but i got no confident at all, as… it seen like most of the old boys, church memeber and etc would have taken up most of the sits for every yrs enrollment. anyone can advise, … parents like us, is there anything else we can do to increase our chance? we are surely staying within 1km, and theres all we have.
                      thanks
