hmm. hi. regrading your questions. sports ccas. for me is twice a week. uhm. other ccas range from 2 to 3 times a week. varying during competition period. šŸ˜„

a typical timetable is uhm from 8 to 1.45 earliest and 3.45 latest. on mondays school starts at 9 so ends at 2.15. and for the 3.45 days theres probably only once in ten days. the timetable does not go in week but in ten days cos there are more subjects.

and regarding that. in year 2 and year 4 you'll get the chance to switch to vjc. uhm and i think there is a few procedures that you have to undergo to switch but it's possible. but dunman high is alr one of the top 5 jcs. šŸ˜„

for dunman high. the best cca would be CO, chinese ochestra, but joining CO would mean more commitment. is your daughter musically or sports inclined? furthermore. as long as she has a cca, it's good enough. šŸ˜„ cos we have the CHAMPS and STARS system here. the main ccas are the compulsory CHAMPS. so cca is not much of a worry in secondary school.
I think it's not very accurate to say that DHS is one of the top 5 JCs as there are no rankings now.

Year 2 - Apply directly to the IP of JCs like TJ, VJ etc. Year 4 - DSA.

        hi hugehugesmileyface
        many thks for yr reply.
oh.......sad to know that the clubs belong to the STARS CCA, becos she is thinking of taking 2 clubs......
she is not the sporty type, she hates to run abt with a ball with sweat and stink....that's what according to her description lah

she takes ballet in her current sch now......but sadly there's no ballet as CCA in sec sch,
and she don't wish to take dance as CCA as she has enough of dancing outside the sch. so now means no matter what, she has to choose a CHAMPS CCA.

        hi summer12345,
i got yr PM, thks alot for yr detailed info.

thks for yr suggestion. i think dance is the only CCA suitable for her whichever school she goes to.

                  hi hugehugesmileyface and summer12345

a big thank u for passing by dhs and responded to my questions.
my dot is seriously considering dhs or nygh, (just like yr choices) provided her t-scores don't drop below expectations......... šŸ˜‰ otherwise, go back to drawing board and start all over again......haha

                  hi hugehugesmileyface and summer12345
Now, the results are all known..........
before that, i told myself not to think abt the choices till gal got her results(can buy time)
now, cannot don't think, have to make choices soon
still undecide whether to put DHS or NYGH as 1 st choice
asked my gal again, she said.......\" anything loh......both also good\"
                  equal to no answer...... šŸ˜‰

                      hi summer
yes, i got more pple telling me to choose NYGH over DHS.
but.......but gal's heart is titled towards DHS (prob too deep impression of the newly built campus)
and also to tell u that she don't belong to the cat. of pupils who works and study very hard.
she did a comparison chart herself with all the positive and negative points of each sch, and don't know how she ended up with more positive points under DHS :?
did a small \"experience\" with her, trying to test her
telling her to choose betw a white ball (rep DHS) and a pink ball (rep NYGH).......
she picked the white ball trying to cheat me with one of her eyes opened....
haha.........u see...........i immediately knew the answer.

                      off course, i can insist.....but
anyway, still got 2 more days for her to change her mind.

DHS is ok if she chooses to go there but next time in JC, HC will give her better resources etc. When she moves on to HC at the 5th year, she will also meet other ppl from other schs instead of staying with the same 400 ppl in DHS for 6 years. Good for socialising and networking. Also, no offence to other Dunmanians (since I'm one myself), putting HC on my portfolio/resume does and did give me better opportunities. But I admit I had a more enjoyable time in DHS. So now it's abt choosing a more practical option or not šŸ™‚

Actually never study really hard never mind since I'm not very hardworking as well (but the rest are so there will be peer pressure) hahaha just survive and do well for A's is enough since that's what matters in the end when entering uni.
