If it is not a weekend/public holiday, you can purchase the HSR tickets when you are in Taiwan. However, if you do pre-book online, you are entitled to early bird discount.

You may email Flying Cow Ranch to make your bookings.

Planning to visit Taipei in Dec and go Leo Foo Village and Windows on China. Just wondering if it's ok to buy the High Speed Rail Ticket on the day itself as the weather can be unpredictable in Dec.
Also, planning to stay at Flying Cow. Anyone can advise how to go about booking 2 nights stay at Flying Cow.
      Thanks in advanced.

Better to buy in advanced HSR tickets though it's usually not fully sold. If not wrong, u can rearrange to change to another day & time for purchased tickets. The last time I did was changed the timing as I arrived at the HSR station very much earlier than the purchased ticket time. The counter staff jus changed for me without extra costs. To play safe, you may like to check with the counter staff before your purchase.

                  Hi all,

I just returned from Qingjing/Taipei on past weekend and would like to share my experience.

Qingjing, Nantou - Stayed in 4-bedder at Ming1 Qin2 Minsu. It is a very nice, pretty, clean and establised minsu with great view of the "cloud sea" and ai4 qing2 hua1. Buffey breakfast included, taste good to me. Average per night is around NT$5,200. A 2-nights stay at Qingjing is enough. Must go to He2 Huan1 Shan1.

Taipei - Stayed in 4-bedder at Just Sleep, Ximending. Convenient and safe area with 7-Eleven downstairs and 5 mins walk to Ximending MRT. Ximending shopping area is just opposite. Room is very clean and modern. Hotel is very new too. Buffet breakfast included, taste good to me too. Average around NT$200-210 per night.

How do you make the journey to CingJing? And then from CingJing to Taipei?

Would u b able to share some photos at Cingjing and the activities done there?

                    Many thanks in advance.

                      Hi Jennifer,

Tried to upload pic but file is too big.

We hired cabbies who took care of our transport from Taipei to Qingjing then back to Taipei (6D) (2 Toyota Wish cuz we had 7A2C). Final day 7, we travelled ourselves as kids were at Baby Boss for 3/4 day while we shopped. Cabbies sent us to airport on departure day.

Even when you are in Taipei, it is much more convenient (time and effort) to travel in cab cuz moving from Taipei city to Yang Ming Shan / Jiu Fen / Shi Fen etc is not easily commutable by public transport.
