I am going to bow out from this conversation gracefully as it seems that some people are determined not to see opposing views and just want to stir things up.

When I say that I don't think we have the right to ban a maid from having a hp, that is my opinion. I am not telling you that you what to do, just what I think we should do as employers. We can all draw our own conclusions and make our own decisions.

People come onto discussion boards and forums like this to hear other peoples' view and to get suggestions from them. I am not telling anyone what to do - just what I would do.
You'll notice that there are many newly created accounts who are only active in the Domestic threads and they are speak the same way - imposing their opinions right into other people's face and if you don't agree with them, well, they turn hostile as you've experienced.

Seems that some people believe that there's only and then, only one solution to every problem. Steering away from them is certainly a wise thing to do. 😂

        Agree.

The arrogant ones would like to impose their values on others

          Yes, I noticed this too.

          What happened to forum etiquette??

Perhaps it's about time the mods start monitoring this thread lest the genuine posters avoid sharing altogether.

Always thought that ksp is a good platform to cordially share and learn from each other. What happened to that? :scratchhead: :skeptical:

Wow. There has been a lot of discussion here since my last post.

People who are not suffering in the hands of the MAIDS can preach about maid liberty, treating them equally blah blah… And i mean it… To see their sulken black face all the time, the number of stuffs that are broken spoiled around the house without even a sorry (and most of the time u come to know abt it accidentally they will never tell you) is more than suffering if you ask me

The contracts are always meant to be broken (By them, because if we break it they will cry blood and bring the roof down). do they ever do what they have agreed and signed in the contract. And when they break it, what can we poor employers do?? We can send them packing thats it… But that also comes with a huge price… Because each new maid costs us money and a lot more effort to train them…

And who said maids are responsible?? They are not like us and that is why they are maids… Maybe there are a few who are but u ask around, 9/10 people will say their maid is not responsible… If u live in a condo, just go down to the playground and you will know what i am talking about… My blood boils when i see the maids have their own kitty party in playground, with ear phones and happily yakking away and their ward is left on their own… Whom all shld i shout at? And in most cases the employers dont mind… They wont mind till all is well. The day the kids get hurt , then??
And my maid is like when they all can do it, why cant I?

During my gals last birthday, one gal came to the party with a maid. After it was over they went back also. After a while another friend of mine calls to tell me there is a gal sitting in the bus stop all alone, and I think i saw her in your party. I quickly go get the gal, called her mother and told her the story. The maid came after a while followed by the mother in tears… You know wht happened? the maid went to the mini mart to buy some stuff leaving this 4 yr old some where outside… What would you do? Sack her right? This mother lied to me that she had sacked the maid and later she told my common friend everybody does a mistake why make a big deal. She still has the maid but now ma’m refuses to even talk or smile… What was my mistake? Told you about ur maids true colors? What if something had happened that day? This gal was found on the main road bus stop… I shudder at the taught even as i am typing it out…

Atleast in Singapore, Maids r the boss. They r never at the receiving end as some one said, we are… Because every rule is favorable to them. The last thing u can do is treat them as slave… They know their rights very very well… And handphone is just icing in the cake…

Don’t think people are shying away when there are over 3700 views on this thread. They probably enjoy the exchanges and are seeing what the outcome is going to be

They have the opportunity to see how certain employers insist on pushing their beliefs onto others.

They can also relate and see how some rich and super rich employers send snide remarks to other employers who are not so rich

There are so many interesting tips to pick up and 3700 views certainly speaks a lot.

I agree that we can have different views and I have stated it many times but one should not make sweeping statements that cannot be substantiated.

Like many others who post here, they only relate what happened to themselves and they do not insist that other employers can do this or cannot do this.

The exchanges are simply exchanges and at the end of the day you can have you opinions but they must be based on facts.

The posters that I have engaged has placed other posts too. If those posts are factual and do not pass snide remarks on other posters, I will not engage them.

                    Agree with you absolutely.

This handphone issue is creating a lot of problems for employers and we want to share and see how we can solve them and I can understand if it makes your blood boil when someone comes and tell you that you have no right to stop your maid from having a handphone.
