Most expensive private hospital to open in 2nd half, 2012

      By Melissa Pang
Parkway Pantai's most expensive investment in Singapore to date - the Parkway Novena Hospital - is on track to open in the second half of 2012.
The $2 billion medical centre is the most expensive private hospital to be built in Singapore in the last 30 years, and will house 333 single-bed only wards.
The hospital held its topping up ceremony on Tuesday to mark its structural completion. Health Minister Gan Kim Yong was guest of honour at the event.
In a speech, Parkway Pantai chairman Mohammed Azlan Hashim said Parkway Novena will be the 'crown jewel' of the group's network of hospitals.

        tuition_czar:
Read somewhere that their most expensive suite costs $12K a night and is larger than a 3 room HDB flat. Cheapest room is around $500 plus per night, and all are single bed wards.

Hahaha and this is excluding any medical treatment right ? Good luck to patients !!

these are loved by the super rich patients from the region and MENA

medical tourism is a growth industry

Mount E, Raffles Hospital and Gleneagles are too old fashioned liao, and too stereo-typed, and Specialist Centre has become shopping mall.........

this luxury medical centre is much needed and long overdue, else the $$ will go to M'sia and Thailand (already gone much)

Read something about this suite called ‘Chairman Suite’ which costs almost $13000 a night. Size of 5 room flat, with 2 bedrooms and even a resting area for round the clock guards and 5 meals a day…erm, birds nest and abalone?

                    For the rich and famous.

                      why so ex ?

inside hospital ward got golden tap for patients to wash hands ?

when a person is sick suffering from cancer, last thing they want is to clock up expensive hospital bills treatment, even if they’re very rich. They just want to know:-

                      i) got cure or not ?

ii) if no cure (eg: advanced stage of cancer cells spreading rapidly to other organs) - at the very most, how many more months to live ?

iii) how to reduce pain from chemotheraphy treatment, morphine pharmaceutical drugs injection, etc?

iv) any miracle healing, if doctor tell patients "No hope" ?

this hospital is designed to rip rich patients off $.
ask youself:- do they really have the heart or mood to treat patients cheaply ?

sometimes, i wonder - where are the doctors of Korean "Da Chang Jin" type nowadays ? non existant ? What happen to their ideal / morals (if any), when they first pledge to be a doctor in the first case, to heal the sick regardless of poverty or condition ? if $ is what they are after, better that they become Investment bankers, instead of becoming medical doctor.
