A senior Foreign Affairs official is being investigated by the police over allegations of filing improper claims for expenses incurred during visits overseas.
Chief of protocol at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA), Mr Lim Cheng Hoe was suspended on Tuesday and the ministry referred the case to the Commercial Affairs Department (CAD) on Wednesday.
The Straits Times understands he has not been arrested. Mr Micheal Tan Keng Siong is now acting chief of protocol at the ministry.
The Business Times, quoting an MFA spokesman, reported on Thursday that the ministry had received information that Mr Lim, a veteran of 38 years in the Civil Service, had made improper claims for reimbursements, for expenses incurred by him, during some of his overseas visits. -
I wonder if they are digging records of his old claims or these are new overseas visits he made.
-
I wonder what kind of claims is it…
-
:yikes: , are we getting more transparent or more corrupted?

Whatever d reasons, it is timely reminder to all, esp civil servants, to remain clean.
Doesn't it makes one wonder why more cases r being uncovered now,
how long has these shenanigans been allowed to fester? -
