Went to the HP exhibition last week. Bought the All-in-One Pass so that we can attend the Andy Warhol exhibition as well. Think we spent about 4 hours at both exhibitions. Legs very tired after that!!

It was fun. My dd volunteered for the Sorting Hat ceremony and found herself in Grinffindor. The other interactive aspects of the exhibition was pulling out the mandrakes and playing with the quaffle balls. Good fun!

Didn’t quite like the way the organisers - looks like students working part-time - ushered us at the entrance. The process flow cd be better organised. Felt rushed the minute we walked into the exhibition area. First, they accousted us to buy the exhibition book - daylight robbery at $50 (which we refused to buy)… then they rushed us to get the pics taken… then rush us again to collect our entrance tix… then rush us to waiting area… then rush us to the sorting hat area.

So glad that we can browse on our own after that.

After from the rushed start, it was a fun experience overall. Good to go if you are a HP fan.

Is there any time limit on how long you can spend in the Harry Potter Exhibition? How’s the gift shop?

There is a timed entry, ours was stated 6.00 - 6.59pm. Actually, think can go in any time. We went for AW exhibition first, then went for early dinner before arriving at the HP exhibition at about 5.30pm. They still let us in. Took us about 1+ hours to go through all the exhibits - coz we wanted to read everything on display. But, those who just breeze in and out, can be done with in less than 30 minutes. :skeptical:

Merchandise at gift shop is expensive. We only bought the Choc Frogs and All Flavour Beans. Cost $6 each :yikes: :moneyflies: :moneyflies:

Decided to purchase the family portrait shot - with the Grand Hall complete with hanging candles in background to immortalise our visit. haha

When I was there, recalled that you mentioned about the HP world. Was it in Florida? Told myself that must try to go there one day and drink butter beer. 😂

Think it depends if the family - particularly the kids - appreciates art.
Overall, it was a good experience at the AW exhibition. There's much to see.
But to understand his work better, must read those display cards. That's why we spent quite some time there as well.

Wanted my kids to be more exposed to arts and culture and since AW is so iconic in pop art, didn't want to miss the exhibition. In any case, the All-in-One Price was value for $$ since can visit 2 exhibitions at the same time.

If u decide to go, I would suggest, go for the AW exhibition first (since it's a bit more serious), and then go for the HP last (save the best for last). 😉
Then again, if go for HP first, one may spend too much time there, leaving little time, or too tired to appreciate AW after that.

Must add that parking at MBS was a headache. Maybe there was a conference on-going but very hard to find lots. In the end, we parked at the Esplanade and took the train (note : must change train). A better alternative is to park at Millenia and take the train (no need to change trains if u park here)

Thanks schweppes. How did the All Flavour Beans taste? Any with vomit or similarly revolting flavors? 😉

Yes yes, Harry Potter world in Orlando Disneyworld. Very good!!! I liked the Butter Beer. 🙂 There's also a new HP studio tour just outside of London. I wanna go!!

my stingy girls :skeptical: only let me try 2 flavours: sausage (so-so) and rotten eggs

Can actually taste the sausage. First burst of taste is usually the bean's flavour and then the subsequent undertones is all sweet lah.
