Are you considering DSA to RI for your DS1?
As I read from the All About Direct School Admission (DSA) (Page 988) - http://www.kiasuparents.com/kiasu/forum/viewtopic.php?f=48&t=157&hilit=bloody&start=9870

As mentioned in that thread -- RI is the only one asking for P4 score onwards. True?

        good morning Club 2002! :grphug:

A brand new day; fresh new week and it's another 10-week schooling days for our kids! Jiayou, everyone! :rahrah: :rahrah: :rahrah: :rahrah:
I like term3 cos its the shortest term in the school calendar, plus a few holidays here and there ( Youth Day, National day, teachers' day etc )... but having said that, Term 4 is a mad rush..... for SA2 !!

        All the best in Term 3 & 4 !

                Hello everyone!

June holidays are just over, and I am already planning another short trip to Malaysia over the National Day weekend. Kelong fishing. Does anyone have any experiences to share?
I brought dd & her friend for forest adventures yesterday. They loved it - just scarry enough to be a challenge, but safe enough to attempt. I take my hat off to a little Indian girl who just met the height requirement of 1.1m. She was mildly handicap in that her left arm was disjointed and shorter than her right. She "fell" at one particularly tricky point trying to walk from one swinging log to another, and had to be rescued. But after she completed the course, she ran back up and tried again.

Where are you targetting??? Top schools??

I am targetting my P4 ds for Maris Stella via band. But I've a P5 to settle first. The results thingy is really subjective.... Eg. for my p5 CA, most in school failed maths and she only did 70 which was considered as ok but how??? It's still below the band 1 range.... I wonder how they manage those differences.

dsa thread very long leh... πŸ˜“[/quote]Oh yes, sometimes i do go to the dsa thread to get a feel of what the dsa thing is. There is a perception that most parents are talking about RI/RGS/HCI/NYGH/NUSH and other IP schools when come to DSA discussion. To me if the child can get into these top schools thru academic then most likely the PSLE results will also meet the min requirement. If the child gets in thru sports/other CCAs then a lot of time will be spent on training/competitions and hence not much time left for study. For other better schools if the PSLE results is above avg (240+) i think it should not be a problem getting in.

Well, this is my perception for now. Not sure when come P6 will i join the dsa fever or not.....

                        Hi,

Is it a MUST to have a CCA? DS wants to drop all CCA next year. He also does not want to go via DSA route because you need to be committed to "that CCA". He wants to keep his options open. Any advice?
