:thankyou: toman82. Very helpful explanation. No wonder the price is difference is so wide. Guess u get what u pay for.The difference is very significant and also the pricing.
...
Hope the info helps a bit long it is the shortest i can go lah. If not very confusing this topic. -
@micollh - If the active one is working then no point upgrading. Just stick to what works And also if taking Active honey no need to buy manuka one. Cos the word Manuka by itself commands a premium. Since the strength of Active honey is laboratory tested, it should be the same regardless of honey type.
@schweppes - The pricing difference can be very significant one. And sometime because of the confusion between active and umf people might feel that they kena con money or found super good bargain but actually it is not. Most importantly is know what we are paying for can liao.
There's a saying about dont use metal spoon for honey. Not sure how true it is lah but since the whole world says so...so stick to it bah. -
There are supposed to be so many benefits of taking manuka.
I only get HNZ. Every day, I give my kids a teaspoon of it…UMF 10. Use plastic spoon bcos the promoter told me metal spoon will reduce the effectiveness. Also, do not add hot water as it will also reduce effectiveness.
Watched this show hosted by Pornsak. It has many anti-bacteria, anti-inflammatory benefits. Hope it is able to keep my kids in tip top condition in such a hot weather. -
So taking UMF honey is like taking medicine? Any harm if taken daily esp for young children who need to build their immune system the natural way?

I wouldnt say manuka is medication. It is more like a supplement. Not necessary to take daily for young kids below 12. Maybe 3x a week, UMF 5 or 10. Teaspoon in the morn on empty stomach. -

May I know is mixing with hot water will reduce the effectiveness? There is no instruction on the container on how to take it.emerald:

I am not too sure about pregnant women though...some doctors do not encourage babies/kids below 6 to take honey. But manuka is not ordinary honey. Sorry cant help. Thanks janet_lee88.

The promoter for HNZ said to take a teaspoon every morn on empty stomach and then drink a little water after that. This way, it does not dilute the manuka.
