Is the buddhist book optional??? The kids usually need to buy 2 textbooks and 2 workbook for buddhist studies. My impression is that is not optional and those are the only buddhist books we’ve to buy.

Meanwhile for CCA, think it’s not compulsory for P1 and P2. But if the kids are interested and logistics is not a issue, you can consider letting them join. Eg. my kids did wushu in P1.

Yes. My P2 had swimming during her PE lessons this year. It is not a CCA.

Buddhist study is optional. However, my DS2 recalled that from P1 to P2 it is conducted for 1 period/week during regular classes and that it is compulsory. Please check with the school if you do not intend your kid to take these classes for religious or other reasons. From P3 to P6, Buddhist study is optional and it is conducted once a week for 1 1/2 periods after regular classes.

P3 - P6 students also can take optional Conversational Malay Program (CMP) for 1 1/2 periods once a week after regular classes.
