I also think it’s for networking. JN 's woman in the EMA scandal is also from this church like him.

There seems to be a rising no. of corruption cases involving high ranking people. Is it bec CAD is working harder lately or other reasons like.... CASINO ?? :? πŸ¦†

People has become more corrupted. CAD actually didn't actively go around to catch. they sit there and wait for people to report evidences first. the case is the same with sunshine empire...wait for victims to dig ut evidences first..then they just ride in to arrest.
My view is I believe joined the \"GROUP\" in good intention to help the NEEDY and to spread the word of god. But when big money aka evil keep coming in... they lose their focus.

Sigz...

To be honest, I kind of think that this is a case of delusion of grandeur. It is entirely possible that Kong Hee and his team are totally convicted that what they are doing is right in the eyes of God (as evidenced by Kong Hee's last few twitters). So China Wine could have been shot so Sun Ho could get a chance to spread the Word to the errr, gangsta and black population in the US. Her lavish home was rented so she could errr, reach out to fellow Hollywood celebrities.

I am quite surprised so far no parents from CHC has responded to this thread. I kind of think some kiasu parents will find CHC's prosperity teaching attractive :siam:

Err...surely u jest.
SH reaching out to gangsta n AA (African Americans) n Hollywood celebs with China Wine?
I dare say Kong Hee may be big here, but he is a nobody in America.
Whatever d reasons given for Crossover, SH was embarking on a singing career.
Well, if you ask a CHC member why Sun Ho made China Wine, I am pretty sure they will quote the reasonings above. Kong Hee is actually quite well known in US as a motivational speaker (notice I never say he is well known as a pastor).

Methinks its still hope.
At singapore pools it is the hope of a windfall - pure financial gain which could lead to better life.
At churches - it is hope for a better health, better relationship, peace, contentment, better life maybe even a more meaningful life?
U get these fr d traditional churches, why preach d Gospel of Prosperity?
Dis 'Gospel of Prosperity' is not even in d bible.

Same reason why Singapore Pools have queues everday.

Can just go youtube lar to see all these prosperity sermons, no need to go to the churches.

ppl queue at SG pools to buy hope,
though d better informed ones know d odds r stacked heavily against them.
I hear of many well educated professionals n well heeled ppl attending these churches,
so I surmise it cannot be for d same reason.

Jesus came to our world to die for our sins and to serve us; He has nothing to gain at all, He is already a God. We may accept God into our lives first to see a change in our lives and to hope for contentment and peace in our lives. But as we mature, we model our actions and lives after Jesus. Meaning we give and sacrifice selflessly for others who are in need without any hope of self-benefit.

$$$$$. A lot of traditional churches have cashflow problems and donation drive often do not meet their targets.

I have been searching for a church for eons in vain because I find them very commercialised in their ways. I do not believe God speaks to me like this. Maybe I have not searched hard enough, have not given up hope though.

haha, then I will reply they r deluded or mislead.
Granted I was thinking only in terms of KH as a pastor when I mentioned wat I said in my previous post.
I once attended a 'black' church in rural America, d singing was much better, atmosphere was fantastic.
d bible belt has TV channels with evangelistic broadcasts throughout d day, n these TV evangelists were really, really gud n convincing- I recall a couple of them were caught for sex scandals n milking a lot of money fr esp elderly ladies.

If u don't give up hope, there's always hope.
Let me relate an old true story to u fr a well known Zen master.

A Jesuit priest went to his temple to learn meditation.
To cut a long story short, d Jesuit priest after learning d technique n many sessions,
when asked if he sees God, replied \"I can feel God all ard me\".
d master said, \"Continue to meditate, till u become God.\"
u understand?

Youngsters like to join charismatic church because it has more \"action\" , more youths there. Imagine going to church is like going to concert. It appeals to them
