To be honest, I kind of think that this is a case of delusion of grandeur. It is entirely possible that Kong Hee and his team are totally convicted that what they are doing is right in the eyes of God (as evidenced by Kong Hee's last few twitters). So China Wine could have been shot so Sun Ho could get a chance to spread the Word to the errr, gangsta and black population in the US. Her lavish home was rented so she could errr, reach out to fellow Hollywood celebrities.

I am quite surprised so far no parents from CHC has responded to this thread. I kind of think some kiasu parents will find CHC's prosperity teaching attractive :siam:

Kong Hee is actually quite well known in US as a motivational speaker (notice I never say he is well known as a pastor).

Jesus came to our world to die for our sins and to serve us; He has nothing to gain at all, He is already a God. We may accept God into our lives first to see a change in our lives and to hope for contentment and peace in our lives. But as we mature, we model our actions and lives after Jesus. Meaning we give and sacrifice selflessly for others who are in need without any hope of self-benefit.

I have been searching for a church for eons in vain because I find them very commercialised in their ways. I do not believe God speaks to me like this. Maybe I have not searched hard enough, have not given up hope though.

haha, then I will reply they r deluded or mislead.
Granted I was thinking only in terms of KH as a pastor when I mentioned wat I said in my previous post.
I once attended a 'black' church in rural America, d singing was much better, atmosphere was fantastic.
d bible belt has TV channels with evangelistic broadcasts throughout d day, n these TV evangelists were really, really gud n convincing- I recall a couple of them were caught for sex scandals n milking a lot of money fr esp elderly ladies.

Sorry ah, me free thinker.
But I think GOD is in heart.....is everywhere. One can practise good deeds, help people etc in their own little way. Dun have to be in religion, in church etc.

I have met a number of Cs those whose action is different from what they preach.
I have a friend claiming I had no yardstick but joke was, I discovered she was having EMA....... and she was not the only C I knew in EMA ....

Maybe try attending a traditional service in Methodist, prebysterian or Anglican church?
