While driving my kids to school today, my car radio was tuned to Gold 90.5FM as usual. When Mark Richmond was reading out today's news headlines, of course the main news is the CHC saga. He made a joke about it that he didn't know SH has a music career in the first place and that it was funded by the Crossover Project.........Coming out from a DJ just shows how effective the money (illegal) has been used.

You are talking about those who work as volunteers, many volunteered blindly and give freely.


The true is most who head and start charitable organizations, indeed, pay themselves handsomely. Most started with a clear vision and good intention, BUT thing changes along the way. To date their is no transparency from charitable organization regarding salary and allowance of their heads, despite having code of governance in place.

Too many ways to manipulate the account book.

Anyway, historically, religion is used by many smart ALex to accomplish goals - good or evil. I always respect the first smart alex that came out with the idea of divine being.

Your reply is what exactly one of the fallouts of this CHC saga that I fear will happen i.e. increased cynicism among non believers and also charity. Unfortunately, yes, even financial statements and the account books can be cooked and there is no guarantee any churches or any other charity institutions that they are all the doing the right thing.

Its pointless to fight cynicism whether a Divine/Supreme being exists or try to convert non-believers with logic.
d Bible stories r full of contradictions in light of more advanced archaeological tools n more questioning scientific minds requiring verifiable empirical proofs.
It all boils down to faith.
n there will always be conman who uses dis faith to mislead d blind.

But he can always claims that he is gifted and is the puppet of god. He can even speak in tongue and receive message and revelation from God.

Personally I will be very wary of any preachers who claim such. We are just vessels of God and we cannot invoke these gifts on our own i.e. it is up to God to let His powers work through us.

Dream, did u ever hear SH speaking or singing in tongues while u were there?
I saw one clip where she seemed to be in one portion.
I read somewhere dat d No.2 told d congregation dat he cld teach them to speak in tongues.
Dat shd hv raise a red flag fr d discerning.

Actually the division among traditional Christians and evangelical independent Christians has always been there, it's just that this incident magnifies and put it in spotlight. When I was in CHC, Kong Hee always said repeatedly 'christians from denominational churches are lukewarm Christians'. Yes those were his exact words; that was a view that many of my ex church mates shared as well. And then when I left the church and switched to a Methodist church a lot of my church mates think that Christians from churches like CHC are brainwashed and misguided :rotflmao: But it is good that this incident sparks fruitful discussions among Christians and allows non believers to learn more about the faith also.

When u say 'traditional Christians', r u referring to RCs?
d RCs hv always viewed d denominational Xtians as breakaway groups.
d evangelists hv always been more fanatical in d practice of their faith than denominationals.

The cunning first led the blind, target brainwash them first.
Then these lost sheep followers led astray by their cunning leaders, gradually become \"blind\" to the Truth. The blind then introduce their friends & colleagues / led more blind there, that's how they grow bigger & bigger into mega church. Then they shut off their ears to hear the Truth. From blind, slowly become deaf as well.

Can someone gives the non-christians some education on the difference between the different sections of christianity such as methodist, Presbyterian, those who speak in tongues, etc… why are there different groups within christianity???

A letter from a Christian asking Singaporeans to forgive Pastor Kong Hee

Dear Editors,

I am deeply saddened by the reactions of netizens to the arrest of my dearest pastor Kong Hee. As a long time member of City Harvest Church, the public clearly does not understand the sacrifices he had to make in the name of God.

When I first received Sun Ho’s Chinese pop CD in 2003, I thought to myself: “what kind of devil’s music is this?” But as I listened more, it began to dawn on me that I was being overly prudish and she was actually spreading the word of God in the form of Satan-worshipping music to beat the devil at his own game.

Indeed, the more involved I became at the Church, the more I began to understand that I could not even begin to comprehend God’s plan and the plans pastor Kong had for me, and the church. You see, I am but mortal. Pastor Kong was the chosen one.

Without his light shining like a beacon of conscience, the gays, prostitutes, and the opposition would start to take over Singapore. Satan would then have a hub to take over the world.

So it was with deep love that I decided to dedicate 30% of my husband’s salary each month to help fund Sun Ho’s music career as part of the Crossover project.

As a good christian, I have an obligation to The Lord to spread his message: from Singapore to Malaysia, to Taiwan, China and even the town of sin, Hollywood.

It must have been extremely difficult for pastor Kong to see his wife in such disgusting states of undress in public, and for her to live in the heart of the most unholy places on earth, Beverly Hills. I’ve watched the TV series 90210 when I was younger. These people have no morals but like lepers, the Man and Woman of God must go to the sick to heal the sick.

People outside the church don’t understand us and are so quick to condemn when they haven’t experienced God through His music, sung to thumping beats and a negro man saying something intelligible at the beginning.

I do not understand how “China wine” or being a Geisha is related to God’s work, but as I said, I’m only mortal. God has a plan, even when I don’t understand. Even when it involves S$23 million. If pastor Kong was using that money, it must be God’s will.

Jesus preaches forgiveness, and therefore we must forgive even if we don’t want to.

So I forgive the government, and the public for misunderstanding and maligning the Church.

There’s a special place in hell for people who say nasty things about Kong Hee and an even worse one for those that framed God’s chosen workers.

I pray that it will be like Sodom and Gonorrhea.
