how's the rest of the teachers? cause feel like she really can engage them very well, the rest seems abit more stern.....Mrs Ang is the one who heads the LSP there, she is very good with kids. I don't think the teachers who were there with the kids today will be their form teacher though. That's good for your son, has builtin friends already! There are supposed to be 2 other kids from my kids kindy there, but we didn't see them, so all new faces for my two!
err...what's LSP? sorry still abit lost on all this.... -

yes lets....I'm gonna be there for the 1st 3 days and also on the 6th...I've put down PV for recess(2 days) , field trips and swimming....Yeah me too! Well there is always the first 3 days - also the curriculum thingy on the 6th. I'll be taking leave from work for the 1st 3 days! Lets make a plan to meet up then.

LSP is the Learning Support Programme aka the reading programme that I was involved in. Not too sure about the other teachers since I have just met them in events when I volunteered. But I was told each teacher who wanted to teach here has to apply seperately and was interviewed by the princi, Ms. Lim. There was no MOE transfer going on. So I guess they were looking for a specific type of teacher here, hope they all are good. But I noticed one thing, almost all knew all the kids there.

Good for you - I can't do so much, so I'll continue the reading thing and maybe some evening events and some field trips. Wish I could do more...

you PV for the morning reading program before the school starts? was ask to PV for that…but i didn’t know what is it about so didn’t want to commit to something when i’m unsure if i can do a good job…
-
Yes that's the one I do! It's from 730 - 745, so it's something I can commit to on a regular basis without any problems with my work. It's not difficult - you have to monitor students in a certain level and help them with reading.

hubby was asking me if I can do so much PV…oh well…if really can’t handle will have to cut down then…probably recess just one day…will see how it goes…
-
are you doing the reading everyday?
-
No, used to do twice a week, but may consider everyday since I would need to be at the school by 730 anyway to drop the kids!
I would say start small - maybe recess duties initially once or twice a week. Swimming you can opt for when your son is doing it, should be term 3 (term 2 will be 1/1 to 1/4), and for field trips, do the ones your son will be in. This is what I have observed the other parents to be doing...preciousjam:

hmm…might just do that…since will have to fetch him after the trips and swimming lessons…seems like quite a number of parents interested in Pv…
