What we Christians can learn from this is that our God loves us Christians and non Christians the same, and I hope we all can follow His example when dealing with our non-Christian brethrens.

Summation of all that I have read. Amen! :goodpost:

Hmm.. 'head of household' is not head of church / temple / mosque.. It's the Top Guy up there.

God is portrayed as vicious and wrathful in the old testament but he is full of love in new testament.

        Pardon my ignorance....

Why is GOD portrayed diffferently in the old and new? Is either one of them less than accurate?

In many religions where the word of the Omnipotent(s) are written by man, interpreted by man, translated by man, rewritten, reinterpreted and retranslated by man over thousands of years across different versions ... I see single religions broken up into multiple demoninations, some with vastly different core beliefs and practises.

Makes me wonder if these written words are more of a guideline than hard rules and regulations to be adhered to word for word.

This thing about tithing through credit card. The bible said to give one-tithe from the first of all your produce. Seems a bit contradictory to be tithing through credit card ie. giving from what you don't have yet..... :?

wifey say can earn credit card points and rebates. 😂

Wah, good one, your wifey, chenwj! :rotflmao:

I think the fundamental difference between Christianity and other religions is that for other religions, we have to work at it in order to attain salvation. For Christianity, all the work had been done for us, by God sacrificing His one and only son Jesus Christ to die on the cross and shed his blood for us. The essence of it is Love and Forgiveness. That’s why it’s called a GIFT.

But then is just beautiful packaging of words....\"all the work\" have been done? but you still need to understand the bible and obey his commands in order to unite with him after death...

Similar beautiful packaging of words exist in some of schools of Buddhism too...\"The Enlightened State has never left any of us...\". Is even better...no work need to be done too...

Well, it'll take many many pages to explain. I guess Dreamaurora post above sums it up pretty well.

Annabel Soh's looks and singing are many times better than Sun Ho. Do you know why Annabel is not given a chance to go to Hollywood for the crossover project?

she hasn't crossed over mah ........ also may be because she is ah Soh ...

all puns intended ...... joking joking

For your information, do you know that she had already crossed over. Just last month in June or May 2012, CHC celebrated its 10th anniversary for the Sun Crossover project.

That is why I said why they did not get Annable to crossover instead of that auntie or ah Soh as you said.

                What is prosperity?

Prosperity to me means no lack, earn enough so that I don’t have to worry about daily living. I don’t need designer clothes but can afford to buy nice clothes as and when I want.

It will be nice to be really RICH (ie. really plenty of money)! But I don’t really expect it nor buy toto and hope God will strike me rich.

But I still pray for prosperity and God to bless me richly in every way - money included.

                Anybody understand?

What is your take on this?

                    my take
d Sun is d centre of d Universe n it always shines bright
Annabel is an Ah Soh, a place where d Sun doesn't shine.
d choice is obvious! :rotflmao: 🦆[/quote]That is why the Sun came in and shine it so brightly until the authorities and people cannot take it.

I believe the most prosperous person ever to walk on this earth was Jesus. I definite prosperity as a human's capacity to love and serve the others. So by this definition Mother Theresa was far more prosperous than Kong Hee.

Jesus never lived for Himself. We should do the same. It is very difficult and personally I myself is still very far from that ideal. I am afterall a sinner and I have to admit I can be quite selfish. But what I have learnt over the years as a Christian is when I put others before me, God will bless me and fulfill all my needs.
