      tankee:
Just find it strange that why your sister still sent all 3 of her children to TNS if she truly believe some other neighbourhood schools' teachers and programme are better than TNS. Isn't she contradicting herself? :?

      Hi Tankee,

Her eldest is in Primary 6 this year, and the 2nd one in primary 4. The youngest is supposedly in P1 this year, but they are overseas now and they are in the british international school, so the youngest one hasn't officially started at TNS yet. Her eldest got transferred to TNS in P2, and I guess when he's at P3, it's still too early to assess if the school is good, so with the convenience of Ph1, she enrolled her 2nd child into TNS for P1. I am not sure if her no 3 will start at TNS when she eventually comes back... but with the convenience of Ph 1, really, it may make more sense for her to continue at TNS, since she stays no where near the schools she finds are very good. She has no other options as both her husband and her pri schools are no longer in existence...

For me, I still have the option of sending my child to RSS...

I don’t know nuts about Red Swastika and to be frank, I did not know much about TNS when I registered my son in TNS. Simply know that it is a choice school with GEP program. I believed Red Swastika is also a choice school.

If you ask me about TNS now that my child is in P2, so far his teachers are pretty caring, the standard is pretty high, school prog is OK. I don’t have any really negative experience of the school in this past 1.5 years. But will I strongly recommend other parents to put their child in TNS? I don’t think so. Cos I will not know the child and whether he is a good fit to the culture in TNS.

If I do have a choice between 2 choice schools in Phase 2A, I will choose the school which is nearer my place or which my kids can get there easily.
One other factor which may affect your choice - TNS will be sited at a holding school from 2014 to 2015, moving back to the original site in 2016. The holding school is near Bedok Central.
        Cheers

Hi iemuhs, Both of them are equally good schools. Do choose the one that is nearer to your place. Your kid will not need to wake up very early & reach home very late.

Why tao nan no Malay n Tamil for mother tongue… Meaning less malay n Indian students right ? Will it cause imbalance in how our kid interact with other races ?

Tao Nan is a SAP school, only offers Chinese.

There are very few non Chinese students in the school. But there are a number of non-Chinese teachers.

This situation is not peculiar to TNS, it is the same for the rest of SAP schools.
