Hi,evergreen:
hi
to be frank, its very difficult economically for us to send my kid to these enrichment classes, but i am a enthusiastic mom , i want to help my kid. DOES anybody can give advice on improving creative writing step-by step.
Hi, I'm just clueless as most parents when it comes to creative writing, so can't share any advice on this.
However, I would like to recommend this book http://www.amazon.com/Writing-Magic-Creating-Stories-that/dp/0060519606/ref=sr_1_7?ie=UTF8&qid=1329816750&sr=8-7. My son read it recently and finds it an inspiration for him to start writing. (He kind of lamented that I should have recommended him the book earlier.) Hopefully this book will inspire your child the same way it does for my son.
Note: This book is meant for encouraging and inspiring one to write, not a step-by-step manual for school composition writing.
the Magic Writing book, is it available in our local bookstores here, do u know?
i tried looking, but have not come across yet..... -

This book befits for any level, but I would suggest that the earlier your child get accustomed to perusing it, then the results reaped will be much more abundant and efficacious.

I just took a look at the book on Amazon and I would say that it is way too advanced for most P2s. Take a look and judge for yourself based on your child's level before buying. -

You can borrow the book from NLB.

According to Amazon, the book is suitable for students 10 years and up.
However, I see no reason why it won't benefit younger students if parents could read the book with them.

Recently, I stumbled upon this website http://www.myschoolsuccess.com/ that provides free trial lessons by school levels. This would be more suitable for parents who are looking for guidance on writing school compositions. -

As long as it helps to motivate the kids to write, it is a good book & worth reading.KSP:

I don't think this book is aimed at improving school compos, especially not the Singapore type. This book was a favourite of my older girl for several years, and she re-read it many, many times. I'm not sure how much of it fed into her creative writing as I've not been keeping up with what she writes. But I have read the book once and I really don't think it helps school writing. -
