[quote=\"audiobean\"]Hi I'm a dad and enrolling my son to primary school, as I have a baptism cert from Baptists denomination, may I know if it is recognised for any 2b phase of primary schools here? Asking as so far I see only Catholic primary schools.
Another thing is as I'm not very active in church, will the school accept based only on my baptism cert? Many thanks for your advice.
:? I only know of Methodist and catholic schools. Don't think yours is applicable in phase 2b.
Any1 has answer? -
Am intending to register my kid for p1 at Fairfield. On and off we are attending Fairfield Methodist church. We understand in order to register for phase2b, we have to be member of church. How do they defined as member of church? Must baptist? Or must volunteer our service at church? Appreciate your advises. Thanks

To be member of church, you must be baptisd and in their Register of Members. As to whether you need to volunteer your services, that will depend on both the church and the school. Better to ask both in advance. -

Hi,
How do i go about to get the recommandation letter from SHHK ? -
Depending on which SHHK school you are targeting… some members said they need at least 4 years active participation in the SHHK itself to get that coveted letter.
-
And I think you need 2 shhk members to endorse your application to be a member.
-
I am already a SHHK member and my gal is registering for P1 next yr so want to know how to get the endorsement for SHHK to enrol in 2B
-
hi michtss,
Around March/April (then again, call in Jan to SHHK office to find out exact dates), you can go online to download the recommendation form. Fill in the form and then hand it to the SHHK office (you can mail it, but then up to how much confidence you have with Singpost). This happens quite early on so be ready.
Then only after PHase 2a2 has ended, will you be informed if your application is successful - there is no guarantee that you WILL get the letter. SHHK/school may/may not send you a letter. A lot of parents I know call in to ask, some got letters, some received only sms/calls. If you don’t get letter, no worries, as long as they confirm you qualify, the school will receive a listing of names.
Good luck! -

I heard that you need to first submit a form to SHHK indicating the school you are targeting. And SHHK will release the result whether you will get the recommendation later just before start of phase 2b?
Do call up SHHK asap.
