[Bedok] Primary Schools

you should monitor closely with the school during the P2C, and check the no. of SC applying within 1km. If, <1km need to ballot, you wouldn't even get a chance to ballot as you are >1km.. straight away apply for your 2nd choice for better chance rather than wait until P2C(S).Dear Parents
I'm newbie and not familiar with the Pri school registration. I'm staying in my mother's place in bedok 1.2km away from Temasek Pri and Bedok Green pri is just across the road. My first choice is Temasek Pri, backup is St. Anthony Connossian Pri.
Just want to find out under Phase 2C, if I register my girl for Temasek, when is the balloting? If I fail to get her in to Temasek Pri, when can I register for St. Anthony? St. Anthony Connossian is more than 1km from my mother's place. My last choice is Bedok Green Pri. My family members are all SC. Can anyone advise please?
Guess the registration period is 5 days.. so, if you apply on Monday, found out on Tue that <1km SC need to ballot, can immediately withdraw and re-apply at 2nd choice. However, it is up to you lah.. maybe someone may withdraw and <1km no ballot so >1km may still get a chance to ballot.. hmm.. linear green? -
Thank you parents, I have a clearer picture now. My daughter will fall under p2C, hope I have more luck and get registered into Temasek primary school else will be St Anthony Connossian. I’m staying just across the road from Bedok green.

Went to Haig Girls’ for the open house this morning. Like the school environment, my girl too. Was quite impressed by the two girl prefects who brought us on a tour. They were eloquent and seemed very disciplined. They answered all my questions tactfully! Somehow, can feel the school does emphasise on character building and leadership skills, not to mention creativity which is their niche. These two girls told us they love HGS, it is a nice and friendly environment. When I said my girl is shy, the girls replied not to worry as the school will help her build up her confidence. They also said they don’t compete for good results but study hard. One of them wants to enter RGS and the other SOTA for their secondary education. Looks like they have good results and clearly know what they want. Am definitely comfortable putting my girl there, looks like they have a holistic style of teaching - not just focusing on academic excellence. (I prefer HGS to Ngee Ann Pri after I attended their open house yesterday too. They have a higher percentage of boys. The school seemed noisy, maybe because the CCAs were taking place.)

Any feedback on telok kurau primary? Cause don’t want my gal to waste time travelling…
Look like phase 1 already take up quite a lot of place… -
Hi,
Can someone clarify - the post from phtthp. The figures are for phase 1, on MOM website it shows same for School Vacancies by Phases — Phase 2A1
(as at 6 July 2012). Does this eman how many are left at phase 2A1 or after 2A1?
Thanks. -
Yes, those are phase 1 figures.
The last column on the MOE website shows the available places for the current or upcoming phase. -
Thanks, would it be fair to say that when the phase 1 intake has increased, it’s likely to mean less places at 2C?
-
yes. The total vacancies is fixed.
