Thanks so much for your encouragement dorisp, spikey, and phtthp.

I know that getting selected as a PV at SCGS is tough and the odds are against me. But after hearing what you all are saying, I will definitely give it a try. Hopefully my skillsets match that of PVG committee is looking for.

In fact, I went to the school earlier to find out more info. Unfortunately, the admin lady attended to me was not able to offer any advice as to the types of volunteer work they are looking for.

          2A (1): 29
          2A (2): 39

at end of 2A(1): Total 81 seats taken. (40.5 % gone)

          ii)
          2012

What could be the possible reasons that drive up the take up rate by 14.5% at SCGS this year compares to 2011?

I thought with MOE rule change this year, we expect to see better chances for Singaporean kids?

              1) more siblings

              2) more old girls joined as the alumni hence higher no of reg at phase 2A1. Lets see the no. Of places taken up at phase 2A2.

If u r serious of putting your child into the school u want, perhaps you can consider changing your job to be a teacher or allied educator and get employed into the school u want. I know of parent especially mothers that did that and they got their kids into the schools they want under phase 2A2.

This rule sets in only when there is balloting in a particular phase.
