    Malaysia to get pandas

      If pandas come along with both sets of grandparents, that’s ok. But the pandas coming are just a pair. They will not be given PR or citizenship either. After 10 years, they have to return to country of origin, with any offspring they created during their stay here.

          read from the papers that this is what Malaysia has to fork out for the 2 pandas:

          1. pay China US$1M every year for 10 yrs for the 'loan'
          2. spend RM20m to build the special enclosures and other related expenses
          3. build a special area to grow bamboo shoots to feed the pandas

          wonder if we also must pay US$10m for the 10 year loan :yikes:
          will they have 24 hr security measures for the 2 VIPs? :evil:

            loan means must pay interest ...... probably also US$10m

            understand that they don't make 'gifting' any more

            as for the 23 hr security, sure have, sekali swim to Johor like MSK how ?

                    Pandas Kai Kai & Jai Jai arrived in SG today at 8.20 am after a 5 hour flight fr Sichuan on a chartered SQ cargo plane.
