Yes, there is not much time left in the weekdays. It will be worse if your child is like mine, slow & a dreamer. By the time he finishes his work, it is dinner time already. It's worst if your child is in the bicep class(p4 onwards) as they need to stay back once a week till 3.30pm. After adding in cca & supplementary, he will only be back by about 1pm + twice a week.

precisely. reach 2pm, lunch, bathe, start work, dinner, by the time we are back, revise sp, tingxie, test or whatever for the next day, sleep...everyday same routine. just wondering how do the rest manage the time? esp those with tuition...how to find time leh? supp class in school = more hw? :scared:

My friend's dd is in Nan Chiau P1, afternoon session. She takes school bus to school at 11.30am & reaches home at 7.30pm. A slow worker, can only sleep at 11pm & sometime even at 12am. Her son who is in P6 has lot of homework, tuition & supplementary lessons also sleep at around that time too. Both speed & time management are important.

Hi Layla, thanks so much for the suggestion. I’ve called and school bus does cater to Sengkang though the timing is rather early, so will consider driving my kid to school. I remember last time there was a survey on school starting hours and after school care within KHS (other than the one at the Circuit Road CC) itself. Are there any news on these?

            Hihi,

            1) No news on changes to school starting hours, if any, it will only happen next year :xedfingers:
            2) The after schoolcare, they are looking into it. Also targetting next year. I think they have set aside classroom already
            3) Right now the P1s are 12:55-6:30pm for official lessons. Next year, not sure cos all will be morning session.
Its good to keep in touch here! :snooze:

                Hi 1amber,

I think it is confirmed that KH will be single session starting 2013 from MOE website (See List 4 of the website below). Not sure the timing of the morning session

I’ll be registering my boy next year but worried over the distance as I stay in Sengkang and don’t drive. Wonder what is the single session school hours. Called up the school but they are unable to advice at this moment.

He needs to get up very early if he takes school bus. The boy might feel tired and sleepy if he does not have sufficient sleep. You can check the pick up time with the school bus operator. Why not sending him to Nan Chiau which is another Hokkien Huay Kuan school.

Hi Jing Ping. I called up the bus operator and they told me the pick up time for SK is 540am for 720am school start time. Very early right?
