MotherHen:
It used to be that if a GEP student scored >80% and did HCL, she would be given CO without interview. Did your dd score >80%?
This refers to NYGH? I think this no longer holds true. Know of dd's fren >80% and does HCL, received call for interview next week.
My dd has so far not heard frm either of the schools she applied for. Am praying that we'll get our interview dates soon
Yes, NYGH. Your dd is GEP? She'll hear from them soon.

Not sure how true is the >80% for a GEP kid, skip interview for NYGH. Just received a call from NYGH that DD need to attend the interview next week. She is doing HCL and her SA1 is below 80%.
Anyone knows how long is the interview? -
Edureach:
No, that's not what I meant. You said that the new JC would be bilingual. I'd never heard a JC being called 'bilingual' before (bec aren't all schools in Singapore bilingual as such?) and the closest I would associate with that would be a SAP school, which is why I used the word SAP. And since CHS and SNGS are SAP schools I thought you assumed that the new JC comprising these two SAP schools and SCGS would also be SAP (or in your words bilingual). Obviously not being SAP doesn't mean a school is monolingual which is precisely which I found the use bilingual by you odd.jtoh
If Sap= bilingual, which is yr view, that means RI/RGS are monolingual schs?
My view is non-Sap doesn't mean is not bilingual especially if the enviroment is conductive in the learning of another language be it at higher or standard level. -

I guess NYGH is interviewing all shortlisted GEP candidates, unlike in the past. Seems like the girls are doing well, with a couple here scoring >85%. That’s very good!

may be the 3 principals arrange to drink coffee together and then decide to have the camp/selection tests to be on the same date, then they can drink coffee together again, no clash in time
That's bad. Cos' it seems like most of the students would apply for RI/NUSH/HCI.
