2012 P1 Registration Exercise for 2013 In-Take

If I'm not wrong, 20 PVs for this 2013 in-take. ( yes, Mr Goh is in charge of PVs )
Do you know how many PVs Rulang has this year? I think that Mr Goh is the HOD for Science who is in charge of phase 2B PVs.silverhorse:
alng,
Indeed, its worse than last year.... Maybe they might scrapped off the PV scheme in a couple of years.
( I spoke to Mr Goh at a PSG gathering and that's what he mentioned)...
Not only the PVs are getting nervous now, even those who have applied for Rulang under phase 2a2 are feeling the heat now. It all depends on how many apply for Rulang today.
Yes, i think those phase 2A2 are feeling the heat, most of my colleagues are on leave to go apply to their old school for the kids. -
I managed to register my daughter under Phase 2A2...didn't want to pay the fee to join alumni when I know I'm not active member.
Pei Hwa, Nanyang Pri and RGPS have been around for long time. But not many parents will think of registering kids in popular schools back then...again, it all boils down to convenience. Mum wanted to register me in Marymount but there were many restrictions like religion etc etc. So in the end, she put me in same school as cousins but wait list for girls' school.
My daughter is now studying in my former school. That pride and sense of belonging when I walked with my daughter in school compound telling her who my former principal was, is just wonderful...looking at the uniforms from my time to now...the improvements done. :imcool: -

I would suggest you bring your dd to sch B and see which one she likes before making a decision. A friend of mine selected a sch that her dd doesn't like and her dd didn't enjoy the sch at all and was unhappy especially when she saw her friend from the sch that she wanted to go. My friend was sad to see this and feel so sorry that she had made the wrong decision.Hi everyone, need some advice here: I'm deciding between 2 schools for P2c.
School A - a neighbourhood school with mediocre PSLE results, within 1km, convenient pick-up point for school bus, friendly school environment and teaching staff. However, it is located next to a secondary school with rowdy students.
School B - a popular school which has consistently done well academically, located with 1-2km, and conducive learning environment. However, it is not so accessible as it's tucked away in a private estate.
My dd has voiced her preference for School A over B as she has visited A a few times. She has not visited B. However, dh and I have some concerns over the influence that the neighbouring secondary school students may have over the Sch A students, since they share certain parts of the school compound. Would you, in this case, let dd decide the school that she is comfortable with, or choose one for her that is more conducive for her learning? -

20 PVs is a huge reduction from last year's 51 (odd 51 due to a pair of twins). You can imagine how many PVs walked away in disappointments. But 20 PVs is a lot given the current vacancies. All the best!

Can you imagine how our kids will think 30-40 years later if we fail to get them into a good primary school now? This is why it is so competitive at P1 registration now.
Can you imagine my boy, 30 years later, blaming me for putting him into an all boys school (atas ACS) and asking me why had I not PVed for him at a highly demanded CO-ED school (c'mon you name it, Ai Tong, Andersen, Henry Park...etc..). SO THAT HIS GIRLS can get into such top schools? :scared:
I will beat the hell out of him!  :nunchuk: -
DesertWind:
That is an easier problem to solve.....ask him to marry a girl from one of those girls' schools along the same road as ACS.

In the event if balloting is necessary in 2A2, citizenship takes highest order even before distance is taken into consideration. On a logical note, there shouldn’t be any PRs in this phase as one would have taken up citizenship at any stage in their 20odd years living here. Still, there could PRs who remained as PRs because they left this country and only to return in recent years.
If its through the ex-siblings channel, greater probablity of PRs among applicants. -
DesertWind:
you then blame him for giving birth to girls only... :siam:alng:
