with regards to CHIJ OLN, there was no balloting for Phase 2B for past 2 years (2010 & 2011).

Balloting was conducted for Phase 2C - for those staying between 1-2 km for the past 2 years.
Therefore, those staying outside 2-km had no chance to ballot.

most likely, you’ll enrol your #2 under sibling Phase 1 first at IJ Toa Payoh.
If you are Catholic, later try Phase 2B for IJ OLN.

        Hi parents,

Does anyone has the breakdown of vacancies and applicants for HIPS for last year phase 2B?
I know there were 57 vacancies and 63 applicants and there was ballot at phase 2B. But I do not know the ballot was for which distance, i.e. between 1km to 2km or > 2km?
I am staying between 1km to 2km and want to gauge my chances.
        Thanks.

Phase 2A2 has concluded. I just called Holy Innocent’s and the total applicants for this phase is 64.

That means the balance is 84 for both 2B & 2C. Good luck for those applying in these phases.

Historically, HIPS is quite safe for those within 1-2km for phase 2B. With the new change, if you are a citizens, I am assuming that your chances should be fine. But this year's vacancies for remaining phases seems to have drop? My nephew is applying next year.

Thanks. I know before 2011, there was no ballot for 1km to 2km. But I am not sure about last year as it was the first time they reduce the intake from 300 to 270.
Yes, I am a citizen, so is my DS. Hopefully with the new policy, we have a better chances. But looking at the remaining places for 2B, only 42 left as compared to last year 57, the stress level goes up again. Keeping the fingers crossed. :xedfingers:

I’m intending to let my son get in Hougang Pri Sch in 2015. I am staying within 1km. If Im not PV, I will be at Phase 2C, most prob will have to ballot…do you think I should be PV?

Yes you should, if you must have a peace of mind.

I think last year was also no ballot for those within 1-2km. Was actually suggesting a friend to try HIPS last year as fairly good chance under phase 2B.

Maybe there are more babies in 2006??? I was looking at my kids' school and comparing to last year, the seats available for phase 2B and 2C also dropped versus last year.

Indeed stressful for parents.... My bil got accepted into HIPS as PV. They will be using caregiver route for our house address to get into HIPS. We are within 1km but as they are going via caregiver, they will be considered as 1-2km as well. In fact, they were telling us that the principal hesitated to accept them as PV initially as their own place is definitely more than 2km but on learning they are 1-2km, they offered them.
