      @baglady:

      I guess that depends on people too…

      Some people after 2 hours of doing hands-on become so blur…No more idea why need to do this and that. Just follow the instructor. After got home, forgot how to do the cake. Some people after 2 hours of demo class also become so bored, and just think to go home early to see Channel 5 or Channel 8 drama…

      So, I think must try yourself which one that works for you la

        buy cookbooks from popular then trial and error will work as well. if we borrow from the library most likely the content will be more westernized and Singapore might not have the ingredients required, so yea. hahas.

          There are actually some very good blogs whose owner/writer selflessly share recipes and tips that you can consider reading. I enjoying following some of the listed below

          http://www.thelittleteochew.com/ , and
          http://happyhomebaking.blogspot.com/ , and

              I used to attend classes at Shermay’s Cooking School at Chip Bee Gardens regularly. That was before my daughter was born and when fees were lower. The teachers/ chefs there are very meticulous and the recipe packs given are quite idiot proof. Nowadays I’m too busy on weekends to attend classes.

              Currently I refer to cookbooks that are highly recommended on Amazon, like Dorie Greenspan’s books. these are the western cakes of course. I’m on the prowl for detailed cookbooks for local desserts.
