Thks. So to be kiasu, it's better if I shift within 1km in case phase 2B requires balloting? Two different thing.
Being a clan member gets you into phase 2B.
Living within 1km gives you a better chance if the school needs balloting. -
Absolutely right.

I submitted my 2b application form to Hokkien Huay Kwan for recommendation letter to register my kid under 2b at their affiliated schools. To-date i didnt receive any reply from them. Phrase 2b registration will start the week. Up to now, i still not sure whether i would go to the school to register my kid under phrase 2b. I have yet to apply annual leave from my company cause i am not sure whether i will receive the letter from SHHK.
My colleagues who is member of some church has received the recommendation letter from his church few weeks ago and he already applied his annual leave for p2 b registration.
I do not understand why SHHK cant give out recommendation letter to their fellow member earlier and keep their fellow member waiting till the last moment. -

Church members are different. For e.g., there are many Anglican churches and schools. There isnt' one centralised church to handle these applications. Furthermore, the individual church may need to provide certain info on the letter, e.g. your Baptism date or your membership period. Thus, the individual church will give out the endorsement letters individually to the members. Members can decide which Anglican school they want to register their children in. Basically, they can go to ANY Anglican school under 2B. No supply and demand control here.I submitted my 2b application form to Hokkien Huay Kwan for recommendation letter to register my kid under 2b at their affiliated schools. For SHHK, they are like a centralised centre. After Phase 2A(2) then they will know how many vacancies left. Members need to tell them which school they want to register their children in. SHHK will then based on supply and demand to decide who they want to give the letters to. It is possible that the more active you are + have been members for long, your chance of getting the letter is high if u live near the school. IMPO, no point giving the letter if you are out of 2km as you totally have no change in balloting if for e.g. you have chosen Ai Tong. You may want to call them late Monday to confirm your status as I believe they are now busy deciding who they want to give the letter to since the supply for 2B was only out on Fri.
If your boss allows you to be late for maybe an hour in the morning, you don't have to apply AL. Just go to school early in morning for registration. -
Starsecure, you can call SHHK from today onwards to find out whether you are recommended.

P/S Shhk has only 4 hunting lines and only 1 or 2 staffs handling this p2b registration. -
Does SHHK issue recommendation letters according to the number of vacancies available in a a particular school? How do we check how many letters they actually issue?

Theoretically, SHHK issues letters based on vacancies available.
Don't think you will be able to check on the no of letters issued as they keep mum on this matter.
