Why need project? what domain is it?
-
mamona:
mainstream = no project, so no \"file\" required...those files were the GE kids' project
Hi leevenleeven:
Hi lovemama,Kiasucy, All
just came back.
* There were total 5 rows (3 group of chairs in each row) so 45 students I think today.most of them came with a file for project explaining.
* we waited in the 1st floor and kids alone went to 2nd floor in batches.
* My DS and 2 other kids (3 of them some how are friends) was interviewed by Principal
* Students were asked to explain their project. Questions asked what subject you like & what other schools you applied. They were not asked why.
* Interview was about 30 mins.
* More I find is they want students to speak from heart rather prepared one.
in the permises, (not my DS group) one of the kid told he was asked why he wanted for apply RI and what schools applied and another told he was asked how much you want to join RI.
The teachers were around so kids were scared to talk much in the permises.
also my DS said Principal had asked any thing kids want to know about RI .the 3 had good chat with her on this topic .
hope this helps. All the best.
You mentioned that \"students came with a file for project and they were asked to explain the project\". May I know is it a requirement for the RI interview ? Or is it for the GEP student only?
My daughter is from mainstream and going for the English domain test in RGS and never prepare any project or anything. I am confused now.
just do your best in the english domain test -
For interview (for any school), I think it’s best not to find out too much about the questions asked by the teachers/ Principal. I am sure they will vary their questions day to day.
Just be prepared for the standard, possible questions like "Why this school?" "How many DSA did u apply" "Which would u choose if given CO by all?" etc.
The students will be probed by the teachers based on the answers they provide and the conversation will continue from there.
Be relaxed, be themselves and be respectable. That’s what I tell mine.
All the best! -

Thks leeven. It's my DS turn this afternoon. Will keep the forum updated. DS told me seems like he's the only one fm his class going for the interview tdy. The rest are spread across the week.leeven:
Thanks, you are so kind.
:xedfingers:
best of luck to all who is going for tomorrow's interview. it was more like a chit chat so not to worry to much ( I was imagining too much today)
Parents who go for RI interview for next few days share your experience and how many kids were in (we can see the stat / chances our kids have)
Are the children released tgt? Or can they leave after the interview?
How long did u wait there?
The interview is around 25-30mins so once done the boys can leave. -

try for school that hard to get in via DSA - (RI / RGS) is more appropriate. other schools still you go via PSLE for example NUSH is easier to get in via PSLE route though their COP is like 250 cause more accepting CO via DSA is less.Hi Superworried mum,
do not know yet, perhaps RI -
leeven:
Actually,I feel that it's more difficult to get into NUSH thru psle route. Only 10% of intake, ie abt 17 since total intake is only 170 is accepted thru psle route. Furthermore, cop is 260 w A* in both math n science.

Don't concur with part in bold.

NUSH does not participate in S1 posting exercise, only admission thro DSA.
One of d forummer here indicated dat 90% of available places r taken before PSLE results r out,
leaving only 10% of vacancies for those eligible with their PSLE results.
