      One of the students here!

Just, want to know, if you want to aim for raffles, what kind of morks should i be getting in sa1?Thanks in advance.

I don't know about SA1 but you should be getting a 262 for Prelim. PSLE marks tend to be not far away from your Prelim marks. The difference between my PSLE marks and Prelim marks is only 2 marks.

262 is base on last year PSLE. This year COP will be higher. Dragon babies will be sitting for PSLE. More boys will be competing for the same number of places. You should aim for 265. Your SA1 should be some where around 85 to 90%, depending on your school's standard. Some schools papers are tougher than the others.

More competing for same number of places avail...naturally the COP will be higher :nailbite: :frustrated: 😓

😓 Heard from a reliable source that the teachers are expecting a relatively tough paper in PSLE because of the bigger dragon year cohort. To separate the high-achievers from the crowd, as places in the premier schools are still about the same.

Tougher papers lead to moderation & higher T score. Only difference is more people competing for the same no. of places in top schools. COP will be higher. Can't worry so much. Focus on the PSLE first, worry about COP later.
              :nailbite: 😓

Paper tough or not, isn’t outcome the same? Vacancies remains. Bell curve also same. Child is graded against whole cohort, his position around same whether paper easy or difficult…cos whole cohort move together. Or my thinking too simplified?

I thought so too. Bell curve remains the same. Maybe your relative position in the cohort might even be better since there are more students!

Don’t think about sec school now…work hard for PSLE now, that is more crucial for NOW. That’s what I tell my son.

The stress level is going up everyday but nothing much we parents can do. DD is so busy, doesn’t seem to have time to do revision. Can only encourage her to do her homework properly, take it as revision.

Yes, indeed the stress kevel is inching up everyday for these PSLE kids,
and the fact that the stress level dont come to a halt even after the exam papers,
there are still the results' release day and S1 posting day (for borderline cases) to be dealt with.
                        All the Best.
