Comparing Chinese Enrichment (Primary/Preschool)
-
My son has attended the class there for past 2 years. Very effective and learn more than the schools has been teaching. You should speak to the principal and you will understand more about the centre.

I asked over the phone about what classes and registration. They told me they were only registering for existing students now, and asked me to leave number or called back in end Oct to check vacancy.
By the way, in their Chinese class, do they cover essay writing as well? How often is that - once a month? My son is quite weak in that area. -
They have lessons specifically for Creative Writing. You can check on the schedule. For normal class, essay writing is included but I am not sure about the frequency. My son has improved in essay writing.
They do allow changing of timeslot but limited to a number of times. After which, they will charge. They follow MOE syllabus but they teach in advance. Their trial exam is more difficult than normal school exams. My son is from a SAP school and Molin’s paper is more difficult than the SAP school’s paper. Do take note that they do not allow us to bring back the paper but we can only view and go thru the mistakes with the teachers.
The principal herself also conducted supplementary lessons this year to prepare the PSLE students for Oral, Listening and Essay Writing. -
If I sign my boy for Chinese creative writing, he'll most probablly freak out. That's something he doesn't like, and would dread attending.
I intend to get him on a Chinese enrichment, with some essay writing. Would be good if they can get kids to actively participate in writing and making sentences with phrases - application is how kids can understand and use phrases.
Will make it down to the centre maybe sometime next week to see and maybe talk to principal there. Thanks for your info. -

Hi,
Im intending to send my 4yo boy to chinese class. Main aim is to expose him to the language...he used to speak like an ang mo. He is stronger in his command of english. I sent my elder one to Jiang for the intensive holiday program last june ... it was pretty good...so wondering if they have nursery program. Any one of u have sent ur kids there for this age group?
Any other recommendations would be helpful... -

Any parents with primary school kids having Chinese enrichment at Molin Tuitorial Centre?... -

Hi MUMMYOF3, I think you should read this thread from the beginning to get an idea of what is available for upper primary students. Both Jiang and Molin are the more \"serious\" and academic enrichment courses. My son has been in Molin for the past 2 months and is still getting used to it. He prefers Yuquan which has a lot more activities and is more fun, but of less academic value. So it depends on your child.Hi,

Am also considering putting my daughter in Chinese Enrichment since she is starting P1 next year. I have hear Jiang mentioned a few times. Would like to know if the 3 hour “jing ying” classes are suitable for lower primary and whether it could be quite taxing on P1 kids. Or would something like Berries be a better fit.
