Hi
Any parents with primary school kids having Chinese enrichment at Molin Tuitorial Centre? Esp. with kids in upper primary, can you please provide some feedback on this centre - teaching method, teacher quality, flexibility (changing classes timeslot in case of need), course coverage, facililties, etc.
I am looking for a Chinese enrichment class for my boy (in P4 upper primary next year) in Katong / Parkway area. Saw this centre and wonder how effective they are, esp for upper primary kids taking Higher Chinese. Appreciate any sharing from any parents. Thanks -
My son has attended the class there for past 2 years. Very effective and learn more than the schools has been teaching. You should speak to the principal and you will understand more about the centre.

I asked over the phone about what classes and registration. They told me they were only registering for existing students now, and asked me to leave number or called back in end Oct to check vacancy.
By the way, in their Chinese class, do they cover essay writing as well? How often is that - once a month? My son is quite weak in that area. -
They have lessons specifically for Creative Writing. You can check on the schedule. For normal class, essay writing is included but I am not sure about the frequency. My son has improved in essay writing.
They do allow changing of timeslot but limited to a number of times. After which, they will charge. They follow MOE syllabus but they teach in advance. Their trial exam is more difficult than normal school exams. My son is from a SAP school and Molin’s paper is more difficult than the SAP school’s paper. Do take note that they do not allow us to bring back the paper but we can only view and go thru the mistakes with the teachers.
The principal herself also conducted supplementary lessons this year to prepare the PSLE students for Oral, Listening and Essay Writing. -
If I sign my boy for Chinese creative writing, he'll most probablly freak out. That's something he doesn't like, and would dread attending.
I intend to get him on a Chinese enrichment, with some essay writing. Would be good if they can get kids to actively participate in writing and making sentences with phrases - application is how kids can understand and use phrases.
Will make it down to the centre maybe sometime next week to see and maybe talk to principal there. Thanks for your info. -
