Is it a norm for schools to give such gross mis-information? I wonder if anyone else receive this update from the school when they called. Twice when I called, I was given figures that there will be ballot even within 1km. I thought I can trust the school.

Post this in pei hwa thread. U might get more replies there.

I called pei hwa twice today and the last time at around 3.20pm to check. Was told that there was 30 within 1km. As I am outside 2km, I thought there is no chance already even for ballot, and did not managed to register. I just realized from the post here that is ballot for outside 2km! I wonder if there is any recourse, really felt cheated!

I am so sorry to hear this. Suggest that you write and feedback to the School Principal immediately and to submit your application form to be on waitlist. If you submit immediately, you are likely to be on top of the waitlist. All the best!

did you clarify, \"are those 30 within 1 km all SC ?\"

here are the balloting rules stated by MOE, illustrating examples (scroll down)
              http://www.moe.gov.sg/education/admissions/primary-one-registration/allocation/

if indeed (all 30 are SC within 1 km ) and with only 28 vacancies left at Pei Hwa, then balloting takes place only for less than 1 km. 2 kids will be balloted out.

those outside 1 km won't have chance to ballot, even though they had registered.

however if the 30 within 1 km are not all SC, then Yes, outside 1 km can still join in the ballot.

Write in to Pei Hwa Principal now and explain your dilema.

Did the school mentioned that all 38 are singapore citizens? The information i have gotten from the school was that 36 are citizens while 2 are not. hmm....Can someone verify please?

I was the number 36 who registered yesterday, and They told me that all were SCs. If the two who registered today were PRs, they wouldn't even have the chance to ballot. Anyway, the balloting is on 25th. Praying hard

A friend of mine registered for pei hwa. As she is living out of 1km (1-2), she will not have chance to ballot. Need to use plan B.
