I called pei hwa twice today and the last time at around 3.20pm to check. Was told that there was 30 within 1km. As I am outside 2km, I thought there is no chance already even for ballot, and did not managed to register. I just realized from the post here that is ballot for outside 2km! I wonder if there is any recourse, really felt cheated!
did you clarify, \"are those 30 within 1 km all SC ?\"
here are the balloting rules stated by MOE, illustrating examples (scroll down)
http://www.moe.gov.sg/education/admissions/primary-one-registration/allocation/
if indeed (all 30 are SC within 1 km ) and with only 28 vacancies left at Pei Hwa, then balloting takes place only for less than 1 km. 2 kids will be balloted out.
those outside 1 km won't have chance to ballot, even though they had registered.
however if the 30 within 1 km are not all SC, then Yes, outside 1 km can still join in the ballot.
Write in to Pei Hwa Principal now and explain your dilema. -

Did the school mentioned that all 38 are singapore citizens? The information i have gotten from the school was that 36 are citizens while 2 are not. hmm....Can someone verify please?
I was the number 36 who registered yesterday, and They told me that all were SCs. If the two who registered today were PRs, they wouldn't even have the chance to ballot. Anyway, the balloting is on 25th. Praying hard -
All the best. Did u have other 2b options?

What will be the chance on RGPS phase 2C (1-2km) this year?
-
A friend of mine registered for pei hwa. As she is living out of 1km (1-2), she will not have chance to ballot. Need to use plan B.

Any news on Henry Pk.... ?
Henry Park - I was there up to 4.30pm
Less than 1km - 7 applicants (all SC)
1km - 2km - 4 applicants (all SC I think - not sure)
So ballot will be those more than 2km only -

Oh than that is still not too bad.steamystream:

Oh than that is still not too bad.[/quote]Yes, overall it was not too bad. It was better than expectation, since there were only 12 places to begin with. When I was there, there were a couple of other parents who were there, waiting for 4.30pm to be over, and we were all so afraid that there will be pple coming in to register last minute. We were all very relieved when it was 4.31pm! Never knew time can past so slowly....cchs2:

. Anyway, thank you to all that have answered all my numerous queries in this P1 registration.
