Think I might hv a wrong idea that some rather branded schools still hv good chances under 2C Supp compared to neighborhood schools?
Usually branded schools will have no more vacancies after 2C. But you can research and monitor your preferred choice of schools outside of Sengkang.
Just to inform that Compassvale Pri usually has balloting at phase 2C for within 1km. For last year, they increased an additional class. So there was no balloting in 2C for those staying within 1KM. Those staying outside of 1KM were unsuccessful. One reason is Sengkang Pri n Anchor Green Pri dun offer Tamil/Hindi classes.
A friend was unsuccessful for 2C balloting in last year's registration for Rivervale Pri. She secured a place in North Spring Pri in phase 2C Supp.

Thanks coralie.
Noticed from past results that North Spring was not popular. Hence like to know is there any particular reasons? As I knew that this school will be 1 of my only hope when all failed (after phase 2C Supp). If so unlucky that its also taken up, we hv no choice but to go to new school.
As for Compassvale n North Vista, also curious why are they hot? -

Maybe North Spring has yet to produce a top scoring student (I'm not able to dig out much info on this). That's why it is not as popular as Rivervale. So far this year, they seemed to be very 'on'. Their P1 tests were conducted much earlier than Compassvale. They have also started 1B maths book in term 2.
Thanks coralie.

Trying very hard to look out for more info as I really felt so insecured putting dd in an unpopular school. Even if a pop school a little far,it is alright as dd is those whose sensitive to environment (he will excel with gd school environment and vice versa).

North Vista: Adopts a Reggio learning method instead of the normal academic-based teaching
Compassvale: Very hot among the Indian PRs. Not sure why. Even my Indian colleague was telling me that his cousin PV this year at the school. I do know that in the past, their top student scored above 270 as the previous principal will post a banner showing the top scorer. I guess it is also popular becos those of us staying in Compassvale are afraid of not securing a place at Nan Chiau.

Nan Chiau balloting for <1km for Phase 2B.
The 83 applicants are all within 1km?????????[/quote]Not necessarly. The P2B vacancy is 58, so example if applicants for <1km is 59, there will be balloting for <1km. Of course, if this happens, that means those above 1km totally no chance. -
So it really depends on how many applicants are within 1km, hope the same rules applies to phase 2C, if not 2C also left with 58 places sure have a tough fight in phase 2

example for nan chiau primary case, for P2b there is 83 applicant against 58 vacancy. Will the balance 25 unsuccesful applicant be automatically takes up the 25 of the 58 lots from P2C?

No. My understanding is that unsuccessful applicants will have to register for phase 2C with the rest. Tpically Nan Chiau will ballot within 1km for phase 2C.
