To undergo balloting is indeed stressful but why blame MOE. Can the school itself manage the registration process better. Say provide an update twice a day (at noon and end of each day) on the number of applicants (twins or single child), by distance and whether the applicant is SC or PR. Put this info up on the school website, notice board, etc. Of course, add in the disclaimer clause if need be. At least parents would have a feel of whether they need to activate plan B or otherwise.

        Dauntless:
        For SCGS,

        SC (<2km) 26
        SC (>2km) 7
        PR 1

        Balloting required for >2km

I think some of the parents manage to get info from the admin staff. Like the P2B, it's amazing how they manage to get a breakdown!! :imanangel: Impressive ground work. Maybe Dauntless can teach us how to get such precious info.

I thought u can just call the sch and ask? My fren who was at RGPS snapped a pix of the board and showed me the status. It clearly stated the applicants under each distance category, and the split betw SC and PR.

Yes you can, provided the school do take calls.

Sometime a certain school is very helpful but then sometime........

Sometime it is better to come down to the school to check in person. Faster and clearer. But then poor parent, need to travel up and down if they are looking at plan A and B. 😉

Actually, SCGS did better in previous year than last year. I remembered their Chinese was 91% but dropped to 89% last year!

Are u under 2C? Please have back up plan. Balloting was conducted for within 1km last year. 1-2km applicants were notified last minute causing no time to react for some parents.
