Just a thought..... If SD was done and put parent's address, but arranging for school bus is to be at own home, won't it be obvious? Or is this not so obvious?

It appears that school don't check on that. Yes it's a obvious sign. But teachers probably do not have the time and resource to check on that now.

it is obvious and is a tell-tale sign of false declaration

Yes, very obvious this is cheating. Since already declared solmenly put down parent's address, why doesn't the school bus fetch child direct to the parent's house ? But instead return to their own house ?

actually HDB has its own software to keep track of who shift / move houses, when and shift to where ? MOE can just borrow HDB software & plant it into her own central database, plus install this same software into popular, hot schools in SG. HDB and MOE are all government bodies - their computer databases all linked up to one another.

Every quarter (or each schools Term), schools can trigger software to run as scheduled and throw out an Exception listing report. This report will highlight address \"cheaters\" who are no longer staying at the originating address used to register their child in P1, during July registration.

once this Exception report is churned out, all popular, hot schools should have an Auditor (specialized admin staff) designated to investigate. Is whether MOE want to tap upon HDB resources, implement it or not. No need to re-invent the wheel. Just \"borrow\" HDB software, request software team to customize /modify it accordingly, to suit the schools environment.

          when there's a will, there's a way. The issue is ...
whether MOE has the will in the first case, to be policemen watchdog catch <1km address cheaters ? like policmen catching cheat ?

actually even if MOE very busy or no resources to do detective work, never mind. After churing this Exception report listing, the school can just pass the report to Cantonment Central Police station, to investigate every name on that list - thoroughly. Inside got designated department to handle PI work. Let our professional blue clothes mata do their job.

the thing is, there will always be people having valid reason for shifting house

you can report all you want and investigate, be it by PI, FBI, CPIB, CID, KGB, MI5, PSB, etc etc ...and at the end of it, those with valid reason for moving house will not be affected.

No law stats that a family cannot move house because of children's school, as long as the first registration is bona fide without fraud.

You could be the one moving house too

The ppl who enter schools by <2km should not be many for this yearโ€™s p1 registration. can easily be trace. Just want anot. Sorry but I am one of them who stay nr to a school but could not get in. Need DS to travel 7km. So if there is whistle blow to create some vacancy, then there is hope for some of us. Sorry for harbouring this evil thot.

I find the method of tallying the bus fetching address and the registration address very effective.

We should find ways to ensure this measure of minimal effort is being carried out.

All P1 registration had been finalised and completed. The next month, cheaters will start to de-register and re-register their โ€˜realโ€™ home address.
