Parents, let's solve this problem for our kids

after 30 years of data, it is easy to blame the past, hindsight is always perfect
this issue is not about hindsight or assigning blame, the issue is with the process behind every public policy implementation. The process is:
1. Gather data
2. Formulate policy without public consultation or data sharing
3. Push policy to public
4. If policy don't work, keep quiet
5. If public opinion rises to a crescendo and impacts election results, seek consultation.
The process is flawed. It gives rise to the question, what other policies are in a similar situation, waiting to boil over? will the current process continue? -
Hur??? Push to us to solve problem again???

Following closely to DPM TCH's fav repartee \"What do you think\" when queried by students at Pre_U seminar,
MCYS Min CCS said at an event on 21st Jul:
Quote
\"Our job as leaders is not to provide the answers,
but to bring out the answers from everybody,
that is perhaps already in their minds.
That is how I see my role\". Unquote -

I agree with u dat d \"Stop at Two\" policy was geared towards solving d job/employment problem at dat time.
I think that the policy makers did not have the foresight when they came out with the policy of stop at two. That policy was too shortsighted and aimed to solve whatever issues then. Well, the policy makers were young then with not much experience to rule a country so the consequence is also quite understandable.
However I do not concur d policy makers were short-sighted in their deliberations.
There is a series of 'population control' policies dat follow a general line of thought in eugenics.
'Have more if u can afford it'
Graduate mother scheme.
It just didn't work out d way d policymakers planned it.
Scholars get-togethers.
dis one probably has some success. -

but 30 years ago already can write to forum page, see the MP, cast ballot paper and GE …
and as w2g posted they have not been doing nothing along the way, more than that – those tax rebates etc etc…some families are effectively paying zero tax for 21 years -
