I wonder why the gal confess - unless it is shown her \"work\" and \"sch performance\" is so lousy that it does not deserved an\"A\". Only if she confess that the prof will end up corruption case - no one else can prove that with all the evidence that she bought those as bribes. Both can insist it is a case of extra-marital affair or adultery which is not criminal offence.

She could have handed in an A essay on her own accord. And those gifts could be no more than gifts from a mistress to her man? It seems clear that there is more to the case than meets the eye…

Yup, agree with Way2GO on this. The exhaustive invest work and papers would have all been compiled before picking the pair up for arrest and/or questioning.
