Keeping SG 'corruption-free' is one of d tenets of PAP governance. It has to be seen to be so to keep d populace on their toes.

It's still good in my opinion lest people become complacent. Especially ones who are always on top and think they're untouchable. Nip corruption in the bud or rather buds.. judging from the many recent exposès of late.

However, truth be told its not just exchange for sexual favours la in corruption cases. There are exchanges of other kinds just that so happen it has been the \"body favours\" being somewhat a trend of late that has been unearthed.

Way2GO, just a quick question. Does Singapore legal system allows non-compliance during questioning if no lawyer is present? Coz I always see in us shows people can refuse to say anything and ask for lawyer first.

Only in CSI & Criminal Minds (US TV Series), Dream da ge… Correct me if i’m wrong, Way2GO… If having a lawyer present (is mandatory) during investigation, it can only hinder process n progress of cases. Ppl hauled in for questioning can choose to remain mum. A lawyer can advise client on how to best tackle questions in court after being charged.


SG’s judicial system doesn’t have the jury, cause we don’t believe in that kinda justice where any layman can decide a man’s fate, after case is battled out by lawyers whom by clever twist of words can even free the guilty.
