Yes, u may need to factor in the distance.

Rgps will relocate to a temp location site at Mount Sinai (Holland) for 2 years, effective from January 2014 until November 2015.

January 2016 - then shfit back permanently to Hillcrest (Bukit Timah), kick off single session.
      Hi phtthp

My DD is p1 with rgps in 2013. When she is p3 in 2015, any idea will the girls in morning session at Mt Sinai?

Parents who intend to enrol their daughter into RGPS for 2014 P1 intake (ie. girls born in 2007: year of golden piglet), may take note :-

2014 P1 (Mount Sinai): PM session
2015 P2 (Mount Sinai): PM session

2016 P3 to 2019 P6 (shift back to Hillcrest permanently): Single session

              keroppi:
Agree. If the child is mature and hardworking (or intelligent), it does not matter where you put him/her. However, for those who mature later, putting them in an affiliated school is some form of insurance for the parents I guess. :xedfingers:

Kids from non-affiliated pri schools will have to work harder to get into their choice sec schools...my son is one example. My daughter is definitely a late-bloomer...this is one reason why hubby & I thought of registering her in my former school with affiliation. Hope she matures by then and works harder to get into a better class.

Correct & it's on dual track (IP & Os). Once you gained entry, it's almost guaranteed 10-12 years of no-worry. Can relax a little for PSLE.

Some more it's a full school so you get a longer Nov/Dec holiday than everyone else 😉

Thanks to Luanee & Keroppi for above explanation on differences of MGS over RGPS.

Actually, I was referring to the post on various academic % quality score comparison made by phtthp (In Novena thread on comparing SCGS against various GEP schools) but do not see MGS pit against RGPS.

Appreciate to know if there are comparison made.

                TIA

                Here you go:
                EL Math Sci CL2
                2011\tMGS\t91.2%\t75.4%\t83.3%\t94.2%
                2011\tRGPS \t85.3%\t74.2%\t73.5%\t91.5%

Actually the mean t-scores of both schools not that different for 2011. MGS's is peculiar in that the percentages suggests a higher mean t-score than what is acheived; it's like MGS girls just want to make the grade but dont care that much about getting a high score.

But did not quite understand your meaning that MGS girls just wanted to make the grades but not bother so much in getting high score ?

this make me realize how difficult it is to obtain on line, real time info.
Parents need this info critically, to make crucial decision.

High time for all parents write in to MOE appeal !
make info online real time readily available, so that parents can know readily what is detailed breakdown by distance - # of SC, # of PR.
No need to disturb any P1 Registration officers whatsoever.
No need to encounter telephone line get engaged, can't get through at peak hours.
