      I don't think that's quite right.

      For twins,

Option 1: you get only one balloting slip but with both names on it. If picked, both will get in.

Option 2: you get 2 balloting slips, each with the name of one of the twins. ONLY the slip that got picked will get a place in the school. The other twin will have to apply at a different school at a later phase.
yes, i recall hearing the announcement before the balloting, (when my girl registered in scgs then now p3). the parents were given a choice to take either option 1 or 2. and the twins parents chose option 1. i think for logistics and sanity reasons. the twins got drawn in and took up one extra space. I remember the parents in the room went \"awwww\".

the other day at acsj registration (2b) i also heard staff answering a set of parents
their question. they have an option to have double the chance (2 slips) but if drawn only 1 is in, in the event of balloting.

2 hot to handle if you recall I mentioned in my earlier post that this new rule will make no difference. Your competitors are scs. I was right about that and I will be right about the fact that you guys will regret come the 7th August if you don't act now.

If we do not have the new policy implementated, the nos. of applicants for SCGS may not be at 45, could have been 50+ or even 60 by now. And for those who are going for balloting they will be competing with PRs.

Definitely!! other than last year, the no of applicants had always been >50 under phase 2C for SCGS. My colleague who is a PR had already given up the idea for SCGS and reg at MMC instead.

              2hotTOhandle:
Personally I feel some of us hv been lulled into a false sense of security after MOE announced the SC priority rule this yr. I believe they knew there were not so many PR kids registering at P1 every yr to make a major impact.

Many PR kids are mid-streamers or could be attending int'l schs.

              So kena SNOOKED big time.

My guesstimate was 50 kids vying for 29 places at SCGS. The actual number is now quite close to my estimate. Last yr's number was 43, so 50 is not an unreasonable estimate.

So question is to all SCGS parents: will u take the gamble? I still can't decide.
Quite a number of PRs esp the Malaysians that had been working in Singapore for years with young children had converted to Singapore citizenship. I know at least a few such cases.

A lot of us can't beat them in \"kiasuness\", they plan years ahead, sussing out info on the good schs strength and weaknesses.

Moved house, joined church/clan/Singapore Buddhist Federation/grassroot or Pved, you name it, they did it. They applied for citizenship after election the moment they heard there would be clearer distinction between citizens and PRs.

              So they got their rewards.

For those that had been complacent :snooze: or for whatever reason did nothing but hope you can just get into your 1st choice school under P2C, you really have to pray for luck on balloting day. 🙏

thank you for your kind advice. Me and hubby are both level-headed, and he is a risk taker, myself less so. He told me yesterday we have 29 chances of getting picked heehee. With 2 daughters, stakes are high and consequences far-reaching.

MGS - no chance, yesterday already 23 registered all within 1km, so today will fill up all 25 places
RGPS - maybe. My fren is monitoring the status for me
St Marg - maybe. Online reg ends today we will hv a good feel at the end of today. Need to see how many places avail for >2km.
MM Convent - seems like there is a v high chance of getting in in P2C >2km. But I am worried about highway construction impacting the sch in future

                phtthp:
let 2hotTOhandle discuss calmly with her husband, decide.

she may be one of the lucky 29, or opt for RGPS/ MGS / St Marg / Marymount.

                2hotToHandle,
do not be affected by people asking you to jump ship.
because you do not know them on internet.

                i)
they may request you do so, out of genuine concern.

                ii)
on the other hand, they may request you do so, purpose:
to reduce / eliminate competition, from SCGS SCs.

Since every schools that you are targeting are bound to have balloting, why dont you just match in SCGS. I agreed with phtthp \"Dont jump ship and as a result reduce / eliminate competition from SCGS SC\". The decision is still yours.
