P1 mummy:
I read (subsequent to my previous post) with slight surprise the shock that such sensitive information as our NRIC is available to people to begin investigations. Why such surprise... we flash our NRIC at least 2-3 times a month for many mundane things. The difference is, these people do not care about such information, however there is a small group of people who are finally fed up with whole process of cheating to get their children into schools at the expense of genuine residents. The number people who have the potential to give out such information within the school (only a few) and within MoE (several) means that this information will come out.
As I stated earlier in my previous post - I shall indeed move heaven and earth should my daughter lose out on entry to SCGS. Interestingly, even if she does get in, there are a few people who will take the lead into such investigations and it's not just the straits times reporter who contacted me via email. I have it from a good source that the home team and MoE PS shall be looking into this whole fraudulent address use.
I promise that I will spare no expense or energy in outing those who deprive my girl her entry into her local school due to those illegally using a fraudulent address. This is not a threat it is a promise!
While many of us understand the stress all parents facing primary one registration have, don't not go round issuing threats.
Moreover, this threat is issued just for the sake of your child in a particular school. It is pure self interest.
I do care about my personal info being leaked to unknown parties. I have been doing n telling people (including this forum) to strike a line across all photocopied copies of their ic n other personal info given to banks etc.
And I hope you did tell the reporter that you have a good friend working in moe who is very friendly with the vp in scgs and the names n nric nos of these kids are easily obtainable by you. Abuse of power?
If I am harassed by this, the vp n the one in moe will be the first to face my wrath especially if no good reason is given for the leak of personal info.
As for all the 4 points you raised, well the parents have already gave the answers. -
Last session 2.30 - 4.30pm. Be vigilant!
If you are under the \"at risk\" group, go to the school to check out the numbers real time and not sit at home trying to call for info. Every second counts and it is ticking away as I type this out.
If you don't even stand a chance at ballot, you have to go to another school.
When the odds are against you or you cannot take the heat, and want to do a switch to have a confirm place, you may also want to check out
1) St Margaret
2)Marymount Convent
3)Stamford Primary
4) Farrer Park
Good Luck! :grphug: -
